Within about a minute more, Hugo was done eating. He had already been served water, so he drank water and stood up from the chair he was sitting on. Everett, Ryder, and the rest of many other students in the A class were still eating, which shows that his rushing wasn't for nothing. Glancing around for some seconds, he departed from the cafeteria.
Getting outside, he began heading straight to the compartment which he shares with other students. He wanted to take the wooden sword and resume his training. His aim was for one of his sword attacks to hit Captain Wayne tomorrow. He got to the door of the compartment, opened it, and entered.
Then he strolled to his belongings and took the wooden sword under, then he glanced around, not even a single soul was inside. Without wasting time, he departed from the room. Walking along the compound, he aimed to get to the pole, that's where he wants to stay and train. Reaching the pole, he breathed in and out, it was time for the personal training to begin.
But something cut it short, he thought of something,
'Should I call on the system to check my stats? My stats points should have added something by now, like, I've been training. No, I'll check it later, let the training begin'.
He first tried to feel the energy flowing around, the energy Captain Wayne spoke of on the first day of their training. He squatted a little, placed his palms together, closed his eyes, and tried to feel the energy flowing around...but he felt nothing. Till now, he doesn't know the kind of energy Captain Wayne was speaking of.
And this was the third time he was doing this, trying to feel the energy flowing around, but he's never felt anything.
"Maybe the energy he is speaking of is the air flowing around, the breeze. It's a kind of energy". Hugo muttered to himself.
He picked up the wooden sword from the floor, then an imaginative Captain Wayne appeared in front of him, then the fight began. He was using that to train while fighting the imaginative Captain Wayne. Then the image disappeared as he started fighting the air swinging his sword here and there. He trained and trained non-stop, and by the time he decided to rest a little, his breathing was heavy.
He sat on the ground dropping the wooden sword beside him. Right now, he felt like a new amount of strength had entered him, he felt strong, but he was nowhere close to the Class S students. His power level was increasing, but he wasn't as strong and skilled as the students in the F class not to talk of the S class. But with more training, he'll get there.
He stood up from the ground, took the wooden sword, and engaged in more training. It was complete dusk already, and Hugo was satisfied with the amount of training he's engaged in. At least, he could say his sword attack speed had increased...let's see if he'll be able to hit Captain Wayne tomorrow.
Captain Wayne's instruction was for him to return the wooden sword after he was done using it, and that's what he was gonna do. He strolled to the building where Captain Wayne's office was situated, began mounting the staircase, got to the door of Captain Wayne's office, and began knocking on it.
Captain Wayne opened the door, then he handed the wooden sword over to him and said,
"I'm done using it".
"OK, we'll see if your training would have any effect tomorrow". Captain Wayne uttered.
Hugo just nodded his head and sauntered away, he was heading straight to the compartment he shares with other students.
*******
Hugo had gotten to the room, and he engaged in some things, but as for sleep, that would come later. Right now, Vera, Ryder, Everett, and Evelyn were on his bed once again, they were discussing. They were in the mood to converse with each other today.
Right now, they were discussing how far they had gone with their training. Ryder and Vera were making fast progress, they were learning how to use their weapons already. Hugo was already learning to use his weapon too. Everett and Evelyn would begin theirs tomorrow or next tomorrow. Some were already learning how to make use of their weapons, but none of them have started learning how to make use of guns.
"Who has started learning how to make use of guns within the five of us". Ryder uttered.
There was no response, that was enough confirmation that they weren't learning how to make use of guns yet. There was something they don't know about each other, they don't know what weapon they chose, they just kept it to themselves. But Everett wanted to find out today, and he was gonna begin with, Hugo.
He remembered seeing a wooden sword in his hand when he called him to come to the cafeteria, that's what he was using to train...he was gonna begin with that. He glanced at Hugo and uttered to him,
"Hugo, I remember seeing a wooden sword in your hand when I called you to come to the cafeteria, you were using it to train. Is that your weapon? Is that the weapon you chose? Sword".
"Yeah. You know, I chose sword 'cause I love it, and learning how to use it would be faster for me. They are so easy to swing, good for wars, and so on. But you have to be skilled at sword fighting to handle a sword well". Hugo retorted.
"Yeah, that's true. I chose sword as my weapon too". Everett voiced out.
"Seriously?". Hugo questioned.
"Yeah, seriously".
At that moment, Hugo shook hands with Everett just 'cause he chose the same weapon as his...sword. Ryder watched them shake hands finish, then he uttered,
"The swordsmen, they chose the same weapon...cool".
Everett then glanced at the remaining three, that's Ryder, Vera, and Evelyn, and voiced out,
"Why don't you tell us the weapons you chose".
Ryder was the first person to speak, "I chose combat knives".
"Wow! Why?". Everett inquired.
"That's 'cause I love them. As Hugo said, learning how to use them would be faster for me. The fact is, I'm already picking up, I just love the feeling of using two knives to fight". Ryder retorted.
"Hmmm, that's cool". Hugo voiced out.
Everett then focused his attention on Evelyn and uttered, "So, Evelyn, what weapon did you choose?".
"Chain sickles". Evelyn retorted.
There was a bewildered expression on each of their faces after she made that statement, chain sickles were a bit hard to use. Hugo managed to voice out,
"Chain sickles? Now, those weapons are hard to use".
"I know that, but I like them, I've always loved them from when I was a little kid. Even when I was a little kid, I do use a certain item that looked like chain sickles to practice like I was fighting, all childish stuff though. Apart from me, my sis...."
She just cut short her statement at that moment, and her facial expression changed. If she was to complete that statement, she'll say 'my sister', seems like something happened to her sister. They all noticed the expression on her face, and they knew she doesn't want to talk about it.
It would most likely be as a result of the apocalypse, all of them had their own story. Everett took his gaze from Evelyn and focused them on, Vera, then he uttered,
"What about you, Vera, what weapon did you choose?".
"I chose one weapon, but in the end, I had to choose two". Vera responded.
"What do you mean?". Everett inquired.
"I chose bow and arrows, but Captain Wayne said I'll have to choose combat knives too, so I chose both of them".
"Ohh!". Everett, Ryder, Hugo, and Evelyn voiced out in unison, they understood what she was talking about now.
Captain Wayne told each of them too, if they choose bow and arrows, they'll have to choose combat knives too. Ryder said to Vera,
"So we somehow using the same weapon".
"Yeah. I chose bow and arrows 'cause I loved them, but Captain Wayne said it's a must that I choose combat knives too. Another option he gave me, I can drop the bow and arrows and choose combat knives only. But as far as I want to take bow and arrows, I must take combat knives too. So I must learn to use both of them,
The teacher training me would have to teach me how to use the two. And as for now, I'm learning how to fire an arrow, and I can say that I'm picking up".
Each of them just nodded their heads to her statement.
