Chapter 6 : Sushie's Diary ( 3)

I am Enjoying my new school really, it's pretty fun and lively, unlike my previous school, though it's too crowded and noisy I still love it.

The dark skin girl and I are getting along pretty well, what I love most about her is that she's very nice and caring, unlike the other one who complains about every little thing.

Well, the teachers are Good and Dedicated to their teaching which made me love them, I haven't decided who my best teacher will be yet as I am still studying them one by one.

I recently realized that my Class teacher Mrs. Anaya is a bit discriminative, she always favors some students and doesn't others.

The other day when I forgot to greet her when she passed by me, she scolded me pretty badly, I felt so hurt and ashamed of myself, I told The dark-skinned girl about it and she consoled me.

" Hey, Sushie you don't have to let what she said to get to you, most teachers in government school are like that. " She said.

" Why? " I asked Curiously.

" Well, from what I heard, they believe that since we aren't paying for our education we have to be perfect and our parents should always appreciate them for their efforts in teaching us. "

" I know, but aren't they Getting Paid for the services they render? "

" They are but... "

" Hey Sushie, I guess it's time you leave to look for another Seat. " The other girl who was named Dorcas suddenly said interrupting our conversation.

" Why? " I asked.

" My friend is resuming tomorrow and she's going to seat here. " She said.

" Oh? Why can't she go and look for another Seat elsewhere? "

" She's my friend so we ought to seat together. " She insisted.

" Oh really? , If that's so why didn't she resume with us the first week of resumption. "

" She registered late alright? "

" Alright, we'll see what we can do when she comes tomorrow. "

" Better. "

During the break, that Day, as I and The dark-skinned girl Walked to the school field.

We saw some of our mates playing the sand game.

" Have you tried playing this game before? " The dark-skinned girl asked me.

" No, I haven't. " I replied.

" Why? " She asked me Curiously.

" Well, we live in an estate so there's no one I can play the game with. " I replied.

" Oh! Wait, you leave in an estate? " She asked.

" Yes. "

" Which one? " She asked and when I told her she was completely shocked, I couldn't blame her though as it was a well-known fact that the estate was where the Wealthy people in our country reside.

" Why are you Attending a government school when your parents are rich? " She asked me.

" I don't know really, My parents insisted on me attending one so I had no choice. "

" Oh! But it's still surprising though. "

" Yes, what about you where do you live? " I asked her.

" I live at Palm groove. " She replied.

" Palm groove estate? "

" No, I live opposite it, our house is a Two-story building. "

" Oh wow! You guys are landlords. " I exclaimed.

" You can say that but it was my Grandma's house. "

" It's still the same. "

" Let's walk towards that tree and seat under it, " She advised.

" Alright, " I replied as we walked Ahead.

When we got there we saw the Tree climbers already climbing up and down the tall tree.

" This is a mango tree, right? "

" Yes, it is. "

" Oh! But why haven't I seen any mango fruit on it yet? "

" Well, I guess that it's not yet the season of mangoes. "

" Oh! " I replied.

" Can you climb the tree? "

" I don't think so, I haven't climbed a tree before as I am afraid of heights. "

" Okay, I think I'll be the only one to climb it then. "

" Wait, you can climb it? " I asked Suprised.

" Of course I can, why? "

" Well, I am just Suprised as I didn't know that girls like us can climb trees. " I replied which earned laughter from her.

" Why are you laughing? " I asked confusedly.

" What you said made me laugh. "

" Oh! What's so funny about what I said? " I asked.

" You shouldn't underestimate girls, Dearie, not only boys can climb trees girls can do too, remember the saying, ' What a boy can do a girl can do better ' ? "

" I remember. "

" Let me start climbing, help me hold my bag. " She told me.

" Okay, " I replied and took her bag from her, she then went towards the tree and was about to start climbing when my next question made her pause.

" Are you wearing a tight, light? " I asked her.

" Of course I am, it's part of a girl's clothing you know. " She replied to which I nodded understandably.

She started Climbing and got to the Topmost branch, I was Suprised.

" Here eyyyy " she Waved at me when she got there.

" Hii ii " I waved back.

Soon she came down from the tree.

" I didn't know you could climb the tree. " I said.

" I told you, never underestimate a girl! " She replied to me.

" Alright, I won't from now on. "

" And most importantly, never underestimate yourself, Because as long as you can think it then you can do it. " She replied patting my back.

" Alright, teacher. " I replied and we both Giggled.

Then the bell for a break-over went off and we immediately walked back to class.
