Six

Today will be my first day at my new workplace. I wake up early because I don't want to be seen as an un-serious person who comes to work on her first day. I dressed up in a black trouser and a crop top, and applied some makeup on my face before wearing my shoes. I checked myself out from the standing mirror to see how I look and am glad everything looks perfect. I walked out and saw Sam waiting patiently for me inside his car. I couldn't hide how surprised I am because he could've come in or called me than waiting outside "hey Sam" I said opening the car door

"Hi Lilly" he said smiling

"Why didn't you come in or call me?" I said adjusting comfortably inside the car

"Wanted to surprise you, and give you a ride on your first day"

"Am blushing, that's thoughtful of you. Thank you best" I said appreciating

"Anything for you dear" the drive from my new working place isn't that far from me so we arrived shortly.

"Thank you Sam"

"You're welcome dear. See you later" Sam said driving off which I walked in after adjusting my top

"Good morning" I greeted the first person I see

"Morning and welcome. Madam wants to see you" she said while I walked upstairs to see the madam. I knocked first before I entering

"Good Morning Ma'am"I greeted her

"Morning Lilly. Welcome to D&S fashion design"

"Thank you ma'am"

"Good. I hope you won't disappoint me?"

"I promised not too"

"Alright then. You can go and start your work. Angel will show you around"

"Thank you ma" with that i left which Angel showed me around the place before taking me to my desk. I still can't believe I get to work at D & S design where most celebrities, famous artists and the rich do buy their clothes.

The workload isn't as much as I thought it would be. All my thinking it's gonna be stressful and time consuming but it's nothing close to the club work, though I know I shouldn't be comparing them because the works are not similar in any way. So far have been enjoying my stay here because my coworkers are nice and friendly which I'm glad since i got to know more about how they work and do things around here

My closing time is different from other workers' own because I will be leaving earlier than them, since I told the boss about my work at the bar, which she has no problem with . So far I won't come to work late and it won't affect her business, so she's fine with it. Which I on the other hand have promised her nothing of such will arise. It's break time, but I was busy checking out the new dresses on displayed when I saw Sam standing next to me without noticing when he arrived by my side

"When did you arrive? And where are you coming from?" I asked

"One question at a time Miss. And for your information am here to see you and I bring you some snacks"

"Thank you so much. But are you on break?"I couldn't help but ask

"Yes I am, but it's almost over. Just decided to bring you some snacks, knowing very well you won't go out to get what you will eat"

"That's so thoughtful of you. Thank you. But please don't do that next time, the stress will be too much for you"

"Okay ma. I have to go. My break is almost over. Bye see you after closing hours" before I could give him a response he left before a blink of an eye. Sam is always so caring and concerned about me that I do feel like I am a burden to him. I could vividly remember when I met Sam

Flash Back

I wasn't in my right senses at all, because all I wanted was to get to the pharmacy to get my mother her medication seeing she's not in good condition. I was just walking without looking at my front or where I was putting my leg all I want was to get there on time when I bumped into someone which I just continue walking without saying anything to him

"Hey you. Don't you see or you don't look at your front when walking? How can you just bump into someone and continue walking without saying you're sorry. Now see what you've caused me, I lost my target just because of you" he said a bit pissed

"I'm not the only one at fault, you should've watched your way too. That way you won't bump into me. So stop blaming me alone" I said about to leave

"Like seriously. Are you talking to me or who?"

"Yes i'm talking to you" which I left but heard him complaining how he lost his target because of me. He continues talking but I didn't stop to listen to him because I was sick and worried about my mother at the time

Few days later I went to the club to forget about my pains and sorrow. At first I intended to drink just a few cups and leave but gradually I lost count on how many cups of alcohol I consume. I was frustrated seeing how my mother was sick and my father will never come home sober because he's always drunk. I was tired of everything which I couldn't bear any longer and decided to have a drink. Maybe I will forget about everything for a while. I went to the bar with the intention to have just a few cup of drinks but I got drunk along the way since I couldn't stop myself from consuming more

I left the club very drunk which made me walk carelessly on the road without seeing clearly because of how drunk I was. I waited for a while, maybe I could get a taxi which I didn't have and decided to continue walking. From a far distance or so I thought I could see a car coming in full speed which I don't know how close it was until someone from nowhere pushed me out of the way

"What the fuck. You're totally drunk. You should know how tolerant you're before consuming alcohol" the person says which I can't hear something he was saying " where are you headed to?" He asked which he got no answer and he had to look at me before opening his mouth in surprise "wait aren't you the lady I saw the other day" he said recalling our last encounter which I on the other hand didn't know what he was saying because I fell asleep. With no other option left he took me to his place

I woke up the next day with a severe headache. My head was pounding and I couldn't open my eye lid. I tried to open my eyes but it was heavy and my vision was blurry. I waited for a while before opening it slowly again. I saw a cup of glass water by the bedside which I stretched my hand and picked it up together with the hangover pills there. I gulp down the water and pills at once. I began to look at my surroundings because it wasn't familiar to me. I was still wondering when the door to the room was and came in the last person I expected

"You?" I said looking at myself to see if my clothes have been off but see no sign of such

"Thank you too" he said sarcastically "you should at least thank me for saving your life before shouting at you" he said handing over the tray in his hand to me. I tried to recall what happened and when I did I was shy that I couldn't look at him

"Sorry" I said shyly "and thank you for saving me"

"Finally. Well it's okay, but next time don't drink too much like that, it might cost you your life one day" I went home later after I felt better and from that day on we became friends, and we both later found out we were from the same school. We get closer by each passing day, we hang out on weekends, which we become closer and from that day on we become best of friends

End of flashback

I sighed and started working before it's time for closing hour

Sam took me home and bid me goodbye before he drove off. I entered my apartment which I was too tired to bathe in, so I just removed my clothes and lay on the bed after setting the alarm for my work.

I woke up and repeated the same routine I did every day before going to work. I arrived shortly at work and saw Dora still around. I was surprised to see her because she always leaves early and doesn't waste extra minutes, which I know am a bit late to work today.

"Hey Dora" I said giving her a side hug

"Hi Lilly" she replies with same gesture

"You're still around I can see"

"Yes. Just about to leave" she said picking her bag up

"Okay dear bye" with that she left which I couldn't help but look at her retreating figure. She has enough on her plate already, but she's always trying her possible best to work and smile. She's such a strong woman that I admire her in different ways even though I have my own issues.

There weren't many customers today unlike the other days, so I asked one of my colleagues to take over for me. I am able to go to the manager's office because I know he's inside. I knocked at the door but got no respond which I open the door and entered but couldn't move because of what I saw

"Oh God you should've gotten a room, rather than fucking on the poor table" I said which makes them to know about my presence

"Lilly, what the hell are you doing in my office? without knocking" the manager said angrily

"Sorry I didn't expect to see you like this. I knocked but got no response, that's why I entered. But next time you want to fuck you should get a room. And last time I checked having intimacy with your worker is not allowed" I hissed

"Lilly" the manager called my name sternly which I laughed before answering

"Yes boss" I said teasing him without taking my eyes off their naked body

"Get out of my office right now" he shouted still holding Emma

"I'm sorry. But I can't just leave yet because I want to have a talk with you and can you both get something to cover up yourselves, I can't taint my virgin eye with your naked bodies that are enticing to look at" I said which makes them to get a duvet to cover their bodies

"Good. Emma excuse us, I want to have some private discussion with your man" I said which Emma get up to leave

"Lilly, are you okay? I just hope what you're about to say is good enough for you to barge into my office like a lunatic" he said which I pretended not to hear him call me lunatic

"Don't worry boss"

"Am waiting for the rubbish you want to spout out. Make it snappy and get the hell out of my office before I deal with you"

"It's about the man that was here four days ago and you asked me to serve him, can you please tell me who he is?" I asked straight forward since he wants me to make it snappy

"Lilly" he shouted my name all his neck vein visible "don't tell me you just walked into my office just to asked me about who is not your business"

"Yes that's the reason because I will like to know who he his" I replied

"What the fuck. Are you insane or what? What do you want from him?" He asked

"Just wants to know that's all"

"I can see your high on something. Leave my office this instant before I deal with you"

"But"

"Don't you dare say a word and if you do, consider yourself fired. And one more thing don't dare repeat what you just did now, this should be the first and last time you will ask about customer information. Now get out of my office" he said banging the table which I left angrily not getting what I want
