Chapter 12

Immediately it's closing time I left without adding any extra minutes. Already at my doorstep, I removed my phone from my bag to call Sam and Mia to come over so I can have some discussion with them which I had with Mrs Charlie. I really don't wanna take the risk of not telling them just like last time that they got angry with me for not telling them before taking the decision. I called them both before opening the door to my room, as I set my foot inside the room I threw my bag on the couch close by before removing my clothes. I had the intention to bath but I was too tired to do that so i lay on my bed to sleep for a while before they arrived

I was too tired to know when Sam and Mia came in but I know they each have a spare key which they go around with in case they want to come and rest or come to visit me which most of the times am always exhausted so for them not to disturb they with knocking they opened the door themselves. I was busy tossing on the bed looking for a comfortable position to sleep on when I felt my leg hit with something or someone. I don't really know what my leg hit with to be precisely so I opened my eyes to see what it was there i saw Sam and Mia sitting by the bedside" Good morning" I said groggily feeling lazy to stand up due to stress

"Morning. You can sleep for a little while if you want we can wait" Mia said looking at Sam who nods in reply

"It's okay guys, just feeling lazy to get up"

"If you say so. So what's the occasion of calling us early in the morning? Hope there's no problem?" Sam asked which I smiled getting up to sit upright

"Not something serious for you to get all worked up. It's just a minor issue that's all" I replied

"I just hope you have not gotten yourself into trouble?" Mia asked which I laugh

"Like seriously?" I said still laughing

"Yes of course. You know you're a troublemaker and I'm not strong to fight for you" Mia said which I smile she always has her own way to reduce tension in the air

"It's Mrs Charlie, she was here yesterday" I said looking at them both to see their reactions which I got none to be terrified about

"And?" Sam asked

"Oh God Sam listen to me first I will tell you everything"

"Okay" they both said

"She Said I Should Move In With Her" I said fastly without breathing

"Woah can you go a little slower I didn't get even a word from what you just said" Mai said looking at Sam maybe he heard me

"Neither do I. So say it again this time a little bit slower" Sam said which I looked at them both before speaking up

"Okay. She said I should move in with her" I said

"What?" They both shouted standing up from the bed

"Like seriously? Then what did you tell her?" Asked mia

"Nothing yet, i told her I will think about it that's all" I shrugged

"Good. I just hope you're not planning to go and stay with them, after you know how they're"

"Who knows what might happen there when we're not closed by"

"Okay, guys I don't have any plans to go there and even if I want to go I don't think it's going to be now. Moreover I have to think about it thoroughly before concluding"

"That's the best thing. Think about it first before you conclude, but make sure you tell us what you concluded. No matter you decided we will always get your back and support you babe" Sam said while Mia nodded in agreement

"Thank you guys. I don't know what to do without you both by my side" which i hug them both before they left which I entered the toilet to bath and rest for a while again before going to work

Mrs Charlie and I are going to the hospital today to see if the implementation is successful. We were waiting for the doctor to call us since we were a bit late today. After some minutes we were asked to come in.

"Good morning doctor" we greeted both at same time

"Morning to you too. Please have Mrs Charlie and Lilly lie down on the bed" which I complied with her instructions before she begins her work. When she's through with the scanning she hands over a tissue to me to wipe the remaining gel on my abdomen.

"I'm sorry to say but we have to reschedule another day because it's not clear yet" the doctor said

"No problem doctor. Thank you" Mrs Charlie said

"I will write down some medications for you to buy which you will using for the time being, so next time you come thing will be clearer and please do have enough rest to need it"

"Alright doctor. We will be on our way" Mrs Charlie said, but I didn't say anything because I don't think it's my place to talk and moreover I don't have anything to say in the conversation. When the doctor is through with writing the drugs we need to buy she handover the paper which Mrs Charlie collected and we left

We went to the pharmacy in the hospital to purchase the drugs to make things easier for the both of us

"Here is the drug" Mrs Charlie said handover the paper bag to me "please do ensure you take it on time the way prescribed on the drug" Mrs Charlie reminds me

"Okay then. I will be on my way now"

"Alright, but what about our last conversation? Have you decided yet?"

"Nope I have not, but i promise to get back to you soon"

"Alright, let me drop you off before going my way"

"No thank you, but that won't be a necessary I will go by myself"

"If you say so, bye then" Mrs Charlie said leaving me behind which I hail a taxi and left right away

I was about to enter the kitchen when I heard a knock on my door, I went back to open the door to see who it is by this time of the day knocking on my door the person I landed my eyes on immediately I open the door was the landlord standing by the door his hand by his waist shaking and frowning his face "Good morning ma" I greeted

"What's so good about the morning?" She asked which I kept quiet " well keep the greetings to yourself, I won't talk much since you know what brought me here give it to me or get ready to leave next time I come here"

"I'm sorry but can you give me some days, I promise to pay you soon"

"I'm tired of your fake promises. If you don't get the money by next week forget about everything and get ready to leave my house because I am not taking this nonsense any longer" she fumbled which I was about to talk when she raised her hands up to shoot me up and left without allowing me to say a word. I walk back inside my room to dressed up for work

All set to go for work I walked out of my apartment ready to lock the door when I heard someone's voice behind me "what a pleasant day" he said without further explanation i know it's the loan shark because i have grown up to know his voice because of his. I didn't bother to say anything to him and his crew and begin to walk away from him when he blocked my way " Nah nah, you can't do that to me, you know I don't like it when someone walk out on me, but since your my pretty damsel you're forgiven"he said trying to touch me which I fling his hand away

"Would you let me be for God sake. I'm tired of you following me around like this when you know I'm going to pay whenever I get the money, so please stop disturbing the peace of my life or just go to hell" I said pissed off

"Well, aren't you the fierce type?" He asked why he got no reply from me "Your sharp mouth is one of the reasons I like you so much and want to have you so badly to myself or what do you think?" He asked, winking at me. I hate him so much that I can't wait to pay off the debt. I walked away from him these time around without looking back at him which he didn't block my path

"Next time I come I won't take it likely with you" he said shouting behind me which i stopped a taxi and entered leaving him and his tout behind

I was seating in the car thinking about the both incident that happened not long ago wishing I have a way to settle all this debt and be free for once without knowing I have arrived at my destination until the driver speak up "Miss we have arrived" the cap man

"I'm sorry" I said paying him his money before coming out of the car

The workload isn't much today which gave me more time to think and reflect about what transpired between me and the landlord then with the loan shark with that I have come to the conclusion of doing what's best for me and my situation which is no other than going to stay with Mrs Charlie and her husband which is my final decision. I will call Sam and Mia immediately after work and inform them about my decision

I have taught over and over again about taking the leave which I decided to wait until I am paid for this month first before taking the leave since I know the boss won't pay me immediately he heard I am going for a leave. I know he dislikes me this much because ever since he made a move on me which I declined he decided to make my stay here a living hell which he has not succeeded in because have never fallen into his trap before.

"Give me a mixture of vodka" which I look up to see who is it but saw that his not someone I know which I mixed it for him

"Here, it's ready" I pushed it close to him which he sat on one of the chairs in front of the counter

"You're a beautiful young lady" he said which I pretended not to hear him since his here to flirt with me "are you not allowed to have a chat with your customers?" He asked which I still didn't reply me "guess you won't talk to me seeing you're not answering any of my questions, but at least you should say thank you for the compliment earlier"

"Thank you" I said shortly attending to the new customer

"I can see there's no such rule of not chatting with your customers, you just don't feel like talking to me" he continued talking to me, which I didn't say a word to him after the thank you since I have people I'm attending to. He didn't leave me alone even when I was cleaning the table. I wanted to shout at him but decided to let him be since I'm leaving already so he can stay all he wants. I picked my bag and walked out on him which he followed me

"I can drop you off at your destination if you don't mind," he offered. I didn't listen to him and continued walking until I got a ride and was about to enter when he held the car door "I will come back tomorrow. I hope to see you" he said closing the door before he walks away which I sat silently in the car glad am free from disturbance
