Trying to slow his frantic breaths, Alexander pressed his back up against a tree as he tried to listen for approaching footsteps. His pursuer, Shen, was nothing but an agile pursuer. From the time he had run away, it seemed like less than minute before he heard the faint sounds of someone running after him. He had ducked behind a tree instantly when he heard that. He had a feeling continued running would only result in him getting shot in the back.
He listened attentively for footsteps. If one person was following him, then he was sure there would be others. He had hoped his escape would cause them to separate. The archer was going to pursue him, no doubt of that. But he was pretty sure there was a spellcaster in player, and she may have had to stay in a certain area to maintain her mud trap. That would leave the human warrior and elven archer to deal with him, and they may just split up if they believed he was trying to escape.
