Chapter 33: Wounds

Starting from the beginning, Adelaide told the healer everything they had been through and where Damon had gotten each of his wounds from, focusing mainly on the one on his abdomen. Damon watched as the healer listened intently, rubbing his chin as if it would help him absorb the information better.

“So, you’re telling me that a wolf and a siren from the Ascenders are working together to take them down…” the man stated, staring off at a spot on the wall behind Adelaide’s head. “Interesting…” His attention snapped back into the present moment, and he looked directly at Damon. “And your healing abilities, they’re completely compromised?”

Damon nodded.

“How do you currently feel?” the healer pressed.

“I mean…I’m sweating a lot more than usual and I get the odd blurred vision,” Damon replied, not entirely sure how to answer.

The man took the final sip of his coffee, which had to be like ice by now. “I see. And the pain?”

“Excruciating.”
