Chapter 35: Renor

It had been two days since Damon and Adelaide arrived at Renor’s house. The morning air moved through the window that was left open a small crack throughout the night to rid Damon of his unexpected hot flashes. His wound had healed almost entirely, with just a white scar remaining where the knife had cut into him; but it was because of his ability to rapidly heal that he was experiencing such intense waves of heat.

It had been two days since Damon watched Adelaide walk through the door of Renor’s house, and although he tried to stop her, he failed at that too. Damon looked to the nightstand that was set beside the bed that he had occupied for his stay. During his time there, Renor had consistently taken care of his bandages and provided him with each meal to help speed up the healing process. But despite his growling stomach, Damon found he had no appetite, and instead, on the nightstand, sat a bowl full of unneatened soup.
