Damon peeled himself away from the windowsill and raced to the back of the house as the men moved Renor’s body out of the way of the entrance. He scrambled for any items that he could take with him: food, water, extra bandages. Damon stuffed whatever he could find in his bag and at the same instance, he heard the front door click open. His head whipped around to see the Ascenders entering Renor’s house. He hid in a nearby cupboard and listened as their footsteps entered into the kitchen. 


“Lou, check the bedrooms; Reese, you check the any crevasse you think they’re hiding in. If they’ve gone, they haven’t gotten far.”
