He took a swig of the drink himself, mischief shining in his blue eyes. “Okay, I admit it. I may have pretended to help Raphaela when I suggested that she should invite Terry as a surprise guest. I knew I could count on Terry to be a good sister.”


“How could you know all this time and not tell me!” Hallie exclaimed, though she was already quickly forgiving him. “I nearly died out there!”


“You said you didn’t want to be part of any scheming,” Luke replied, trying to sound completely reasonable and innocent, “so I didn’t involve you in any way. It was all my hard work that made you the shining star of the show. You’re welcome, by the way.”


“And you!” Hallie rounded on her sister, who was grinning evilly now that she was off camera. “How could you not tell me anything? How long have you been in Sarkadia?”
