Chapter 103

It took me a night, but I came up with a rebuttal to that brat acting too big for his britches. I rehearsed it in my head till I could see him at lunch.

I didn't bring any lemonade or juice. He didn't deserve it.

Gus's expression tensed as he came up the gentle hill to me from the training grounds. He could see an incoming scolding from a mile.

"Should I bother sitting down?" he asked.

I pointed to a spot in front of me. He sighed before plopping down.

"It took me a minute to think over just how to deal with you threatening to rape me--"

He choked on his own spit. "I SAID NO SUCH THING!"

"You implied that you'd coerce me into doing the do-dah with you."

"Do-dah?"

"Gus, you need to stop getting pissed off when I call you or treat you like a child because, get this, you are."

My fluffy teen (who still needed a haircut), pulled out his heavy scowl. He opened his mouth, but before he could say something he'd most likely regret, I cut him off.
