Chapter 161

I woke up not wanting to, and while the morning was still gray nonetheless. Alas, my sweet sleep had been taken hostage by the great villain's of mornings: full bladder and empty stomach.

I whined at the horrible unfairness of it all and nuzzled my face into the warm smell goods I'd snuggled up to in the night. I knew it was Gus. How could I not know the smell of my Gus, even as musky as he'd gotten with age? I had loved cuddling with him when he had been tiny and bony. Now that he had become big and muscly it just made getting up in the morning all the harder. Why did the world wish to take me away from all that was wonderful?

I didn't bother moving until my bladder threatened to embarrass me in front of my boy plush and his dragon. I could feel the imprints the grass had left on my face as I did so. Gus and Moonfall had caged me in over the night, so I had to literally crawl over Gus to get out, waking him in the process.

"Where you go'n?" he groused.
