Chapter Twenty-Three | Alexander

I make my way down the familiar dim-lit street, flashing back to when I was carrying Avalon to her mother’s house only a few days prior. The route seems so different now.

This morning when I saw her name on my caller id, my heart stopped for a moment. I was flooded with the fear that she wouldn’t want me anymore - I was too unreliable for no good reason. I can’t justify my absence without sounding clinically insane, but I can do my best to win back the girl who stole my heart.

Avalon invited me over around nine o’clock this morning, which gave me just enough time to rehearse in the mirror. I want to say what I’m feeling without making a complete a*sshole out of myself. As I get closer to her mother’s house, one thing rings true in my mind - Avalon Stone is the kind of person you fight for.
