Chapter 52: A Huge Improvement

The night came and went quicker than I would have liked to admit. I was hoping I could stay in bed just a bit longer, especially since it was getting cold out. Chase and I talked for a bit on the phone, but I spent most of the night reading.

The following day was calm, almost too calm. Hannah met me at my locker. Her books were already in her hands. Her eyes were swollen and red.

"Are you okay?" I asked, taking a closer look at her face. She rubbed her eyes a few times and looked back at me.

"I could not sleep at all last night. My parents were up doing the nasty, and it kept me up all night. I spent that time looking for therapists online," she said and slumped onto the ground. I couldn't help but laugh, but I would have been in the same headspace if it were my mom and Mr. Brad going at it all night.

"How can we trust these if even you won't take them?" a voice asked behind us. A few snickers followed suit.
