"Alright, so does everyone understand the assignment?" Mr. Brad asked the class. The room grumbled a "Yes" in unison.
"Great, another five-page essay," Chase said and rolled his eyes. I laughed. He had made so many changes, minus liking school work, that I almost forgot he was not a bookworm.
"We have two weeks to do it, and it is not a difficult assignment. You'll be fine," I said as I highlighted the requirements of the essay. We needed to research a country that started with the first letter of our names. It was a unique picking process.
"Can we partner up at least?" he asked and smile. It was constantly difficult to say no to those dark eyes. I shook my head, of course.
"You know this is an individual assignment, right? I will proofread your paper, but that is all," I said, knowing he was fully capable of doing this assignment on his own.
"He should pay you for all of that help," Luke said jokingly. Chase wadded up a piece of paper and chucked it at his face.
