Vol. 1 Chapter 3: Help

Belle was attempting to calm herself because she had an unexpected task to save this other world. She mumbles, "But.... why me?" Her mind was a jumble as she searched for something to back up this out-of-novel scenario, but she couldn't think of anything.'It's not like I saved some type of elderly person or animal on the side of the road who turned out to be a magical creature' she pondered

Belle was an introvert who would not readily assist others unless they were in dire need; she was terrified of strangers and dangers and avoided them at all costs. "I apologize for interrupting your train of thinking, but shouldn't you be more concerned about being in the midst of a forest by now?" Conrad asked, his arms crossed across his chest.

Belle regains her composure and turns to face Conrad, who was standing in front of her with his feet on the ground and only reaching Belle's waist.

Conrad had sky blue hair and golden round eyes, and he appeared like a little exquisite doll; if it weren't for the halo over his head and the golden aura around him, people may have mistaken him for a very gorgeous child.

Conrad grabs Belle's hands and starts walking south quickly. "What's wrong with you, and why are we moving so quickly?" Conrad remarked without glancing back, "I sense a pack of wolves approaching our area right now, we need to evacuate and settle on a village for the time being."

"A village? Where can we find a settlement in the middle of a forest?" Belle asks, skeptically, for if there isn't one and they merely wander about, they might come across more than just a wolf pack. She chills at the possibility.

"Did you forget? I'm a system designed to assist you; I can't just let you die before you even begin your missions; don't worry, I've already tracked a nearby hamlet of the jaguar race." He turns around and gives Belle a short wink before returning his gaze to the road ahead.

"Are the Jaguars orcs who can shape change into humanoids?"

"Yup"

They heard a rustling sound behind them, followed by the sound of running. "This is a bad run!!" Conrad grabbed Belle's hand tighter and sprinted faster towards the Jaguar village.

Belle quickens her pace with a hard breath, and when she turns her head slightly, she notices a swarm of hungry wolves chasing behind her. "You could shout for help; orcs value females, and if they hear you, they might be able to help; after all, you're near their area."

Belle screamed between heaving breaths, "Are you sure this is going to work?"

"It's better to try than nothing!"

"HELP!! PLEASE HELP!!" Belle screams at the top of her lungs, the wolves behind her speeding up to avoid losing their evening meals.

"When someone arrives to help, I'll return; if you need me, we can communicate within your thoughts; just don't say anything loudly unless you want people to think you're insane," Conrad jokes.

"Do you really think this is the time to make such jokes?! HELP HELPPP!!" As she yelled again, she noticed movement ahead of them and saw a swarm of tawny-colored animals with black rosettes.

They sped past her and pounced on the pursuing wolf pack in the distance. "Get on, we need to get you out of here," a large jaguar says as he comes to a halt in front of her. Belle was still staring at the sight of such a large animal when she came to, "Hold tight," and decided to climb the Jaguar's back.

Belle is riding on the back of a large jaguar as it races through the forest. When she turned around, she witnessed Jaguars and wolves battling, with the wolves retiring one by one as the Jaguars used their size and strength to their advantage.

'Thank goodness they arrived on time,' Belle muttered, wondering where Conrad was when the Jaguars arrived. 'Wow you definitely are fast at escaping huh,' Isabelle mocked.

Conrad explained, 'I can't be seen by anyone except you, or else there will be consequences.'

'What should I do when I arrive in the village?' 'She was terrified of being surrounded by such vicious and enormous felines; what if they discovered she wasn't one of them and wanted to eat her?

'Don't worry, since there has been a shortage of females, the orcs value them like fragile glass that could break at any minute, each female has an average of 5-30 males around her to give birth to numerous orcs, as long as you don't pose any risk they'll take care of you' Conrad informed.

'Five to thirty?! 'Man, how insane would it be, I haven't even had one in the other world, now the balance is even more ridiculous,' Belle imagines herself surrounded by a dozen or so orc males.
