Chapter Thirty-Eight

Talia's POV:

I woke up to blinding bright lights shimmering into the room. Head banging, body pain and discomfort. The worst was that my stomach hurt like crazy. I was in some kind of expensive hospital. It was fully equipped and in a thousand years, I would be unable to afford such a luxurious environment.

"You are awake," a kind and concerned voice asked.

"Where are mine?" I asked Louis.

"The hospital."

My heart leapt with joy. Finally, I was away from the cold claws of Nicholas's Island. "Where are we?" I asked with a hint of excitement.

"I told you it is the hospital."

"I know. Where is the hospital?"

"The other side of the island."

"What? You mean to tell me that we are still in this cursed place? Who has a well-equipped hospital built into their homes?"

"Nicholas," she whispers with sarcasm. "How are you feeling?"
