CHAPTER 19: IN THE WILD

Juanita cooked quickly and fed her empty stomach. After eating she cleaned up her plates and pits before looking at the screen where she surveyed her surroundings and took a deep breath seeing that there was no danger.

She then went to bed and slept very soundly. When she woke up the next day, she solved her toilet needs, took a bath, and made some breakfast. After eating and feeling energetic, she flashed out of the farm and began her gathering.

With the hand gloves she bought for this job, Juan found herself working so fast and hard. The notifications became a bother as she got annoyed hearing notifications she didn’t like.

In the end, she muted them and just worked like a maniac and rested here and then. Juanita also cooked her lunch and continued with her gathering. When night came, she flashed back into the farm and made herself some dinner.

Her days were all the same but she was moving to every corner of the mountain. Whenever she came into trouble and faced danger, Juan will simply escape to her farm and not get out until the danger was gone.

This was something that happened on her fifth day, she was busy pulling these strange-looking plants from the ground when she heard this roar behind her. She was frozen at the spot but she knew that if she kept standing there, she will be gone so with a single thought she was gone.

She turned to the screen and felt relieved that she left there in a hurry. To think that there was such a fierce bear and it was even angry at her for leaving, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

The bear lingered in the surrounding area for hours and in the end, Juanita was forced to stay inside and concentrate on farming. Luckily the next day, the bear was gone and Juan freely went on her gathering.

However, she was on alert as she didn’t want to be surprised by anything anymore. On her seventh day, Juan was so happy when she came across a rabbit that had died.

It was still warm and this meant that the rabbit could be eaten without a problem. Juan returned to the farm and skinned the rabbit with her knife. She got rid of the offal and cleaned her meat.

When she was done, she roasted the rabbit over a fire she made and watched drooling at the golden rabbit that was just asking to be eaten. Juanita sat on the green grass as she ate her rabbit with relish.

Life was finally treating her well and she didn’t have any qualms about anything anymore. She managed to eat only two hind legs and kept the rest of the meat for later.

Because she was full, Juan went to take a nap as she no longer felt like working anymore. The next day Juan resumed her work and worked like crazy once more.

Juanita kept on going for another day and when she was tired, she decided to take a rest under this tree. She didn’t find any fruits in the forest and she was missing having some apples or bananas.

The fruit seeds were expensive and Juanita was not yet in the mood of planting anything in her two pieces of land. With no sense of danger near her, Juanita was very much relaxed.

She was busy eating a drumstick from a wild pheasant she roasted the previous day when she saw something she didn’t quite understand. Her curiosity got the best out of her, so she stood up and made her way to where this thing was.

Looking at the lone plant growing by itself, Juan felt happy all of a sudden and decided to uproot it. It didn’t matter whether the plant will add something to her points or not.

Juanita took out a shovel and began to dig out this plant she had never seen before. The more she digs the more she got excited, the roots were a bit long so she was even more careful.

Juanita spent a lot of time just digging this one plant and she was excited as she saw that it was more of a root than a plant. It was as if she was looking at some strange wild carrot or beetroot.

This time she didn’t throw it into the farm but personally went inside and unmute the notification. She rubbed her not so rough hands with anxiety as she waited to hear the judgment.

The judgment she was waiting for finally arrived after a minute and she jumped happily after hearing it.

[A two hundred years’ ginseng has been found and the farm has leveled up to 2. Keep up the good work host.]

How can she not be happy? She had been toiling so hard for almost ten days and there was no indication that her farm was going to level up and yet now after digging ginseng for an hour, she leveled up.

How can she not be elated like that? Juan quickly went to the screen to see what benefits she will be getting this time. She wasn’t disappointed after seeing how glorious and great the rewards were.

Her two pieces of land increased by two more, making them four and this was good as she could now plant more things and sell a variety of products to her clients.

The most important thing was that she received two more gems making them three. And this meant that she could now officially open that locked part of the store where she could buy items that were beneficial to her.

Another thing was that the backgrounds of the residential area were now unlocked and she could buy anything else other than the hut she owned. Juan happily browsed through the list and her face fell by every second.

The houses were very good but expensive, so she couldn’t afford them yet.

“It seems I still have to sell more products in the store otherwise I will never be able to live in a good house for a long time,” she sighed sadly as she looked at the few backgrounds she could afford.

In the end, Juanita bought a bachelor’s pad which was similar to her apartment which she was staying in now in Zlila. There was one bedroom, a study, a kitchen, and a living room. It was even bigger than the one she was living in Zlila at the end.
