No one told Kinley that carrying a hybrid child would cause her pregnancy symptoms to go from zero to a hundred in a matter of days.


She could barely keep anything down and had no energy whatsoever. Despite that, she was on cloud nine. She immediately called a small meeting with Matt and Natalie at her apartment. She acted as if she just wanted everyone to do a check-in, but she had other news.


They had designed a special knock at the door so that she would know it was them on the other side without having to use the peep hole. Since Seth knew they were coming over, he used the time to go get the last of his things from his apartment. It would be the last time he stepped foot in it.


It was them. She opened the door to their smiling faces, and she was so happy to see them. It felt like it had been forever. Maybe it felt that way because of the huge turn life had taken in just a matter of days.
