Old Kibali POV
Having sent Emma and my lovely wife to the truck. James and went through the plan we had before. We had to make sure we know whether they are foes or friends. I took my gun and threw another to James.
Over the month that we stayed together with him, I realized he was not as selfish as he seemed at first.
“ Its time.” He said to me nodding. We moved to the towards the second gate and looked at them. The people that were coming forward I didn’t know but it seem James knew or must’ve seen some of them
The incoming swam of people were armed but not all off them. They seem confident about attacking us. I didn’t need to ask twice to know what their plan was
“ What do you want?” I shouted to the man that was at the fore front with an ak47 gun over his shoulder
“ Nothing. We are just here seeking shelter.” The man answered as the rest of them finished off the remaining undead. It seemed that they had lost quite a bit of their own men
“ We are full already. There is no more space in here.” James said standing beside me. I liked charisma. He was a man of power.
“ From what I know, you have lost most of your men. If am not wrong, you are less than ten.” He said motioning at us seemingly counting us and also pointing at the warehouse
“We don’t need much. Just few bags of food. I heard from a reliable source you have tones of bags in there.” He said in arrogance. He was a well build man with a sense of authority in him. He seemed a dictator kind of man. What I hate the most about those sort of people are their selfishness
“We are sorry but we don’t have much to ourselves to begin with. So, it will be hard to share.” I said to them looking at James deciding the kind of people we were dealing with
“We will have to decide that after we see for ourselves.” The man chuckled before saying loudly. He signaled and the men aimed their guns at us. We didn’t want much trouble ourselves. It seem the people that left the warehouse on the first day had leaked the information about food
“What are we going to do with all of them?” James panicked a little looking at the number of guns that pointed at them. Though it was quite a distance, it was dangerous.
“Be our guests then.” I said to them looking at the serious looking man. It seemed they were ready to kill them whether they cooperated or not
“That won’t be necessary. You will have to vacate the premises.” The man said loudly
Leading his men towards the first gate, the man waited aside as some of his men took care of the gate. In minutes the game was down. They came in forcefully shooting at us.
“Let’s go. We will alert too many of the undead.” I said to James. Seeing the number of people before us, it was hard to say we would have had an upper hand. It would’ve been even better to save the bullets for a more lifesaving event in case we meet them.
In fact it was too early to start fighting against fellow living men when we had undead enemy out there
James followed behind me running back inside the warehouse.
We closed behind us and rushed back towards the backdoor. We ran through the residence and back at the waiting running Lorry. I liked the young girl Emma, she was so fast and always follow instructions.
I rushed and jumped on the opened back door of the truck followed by James. The moment he was inside, Peter and I helped to close the door and took a stance ready for a fight. Pointing the gun, at the gap on the closed door, we were ready for them.
Emma stepped on the braked and drove from the back of the warehouse turning the corner. She drove from the backyard and passed through the main gate. I could imagine what the people fighting their way to the warehouse were caught off-guard
We were sprayed bullets.
The good thing, the truck was a hard nut to crack.
Dan, Javi and Peter laid down on the truck as the crazy girl run through the people shooting at us.
The shooting continued until it eventually stooped. I could see through the gap the men running after us shooting and shouting. Sometimes I wonder what they would have gained killing us over food. It was so stupid.
Emma drove the truck and out of the premises and towards the main road out o the area. I could see us passing through the road we had used earlier few months back and the truck were still there but the condition were not good. Bodies were scattered all over the road and it seemed they were killed sometimes back.
At that moment the truck stopped abruptly…..
