Chapter Eighty Three: The Second Coming

Penny and Raven were sure of it. This was Kara, or at least it looked exactly like her based on what Ember had revealed to them. But how she could be here and be alive when she wasn't even born yet in this world, they weren't sure.

" We have to follow her.." Raven did not take her eyes off the direction they saw Kara walk off and they proceeded to follow. And whilst they were not sure where she was heading, they soon found out, because again, they could hear screaming come from down the street.

Penny and Raven rushed towards the screams and found a woman standing outside of a tavern of sorts and arguing with another man, who appeared to be the owner of the establishment.

" I don't care Keera, you cannot come in here any longer. And you know why.." The man shouted, holding his ground and blocking the entrance way.

" I just need a drink..I am not going to cause any problems" She assured the man who continued shaking his head in denial of her request.

" I am not going to say this again. You need to find yourself another place to get a drink..unless you caused as much damage to them as you did to me.."

Raven and Penny stepped forward " We will get you a drink.. " Penny called out to the girl who turned to the two, surprised.

" Oh yeah? I might run you into debt.." She smirked, as she turned from the old man and faced the two.

" I think we will be fine. If you want a drink then come with us" Raven motioned and the girl happily followed.

" We dont know where any bars are in this town..? " Raven nudged Penny who shrugged.

" I'm sure we will find something.." Penny assured as the girl increased her pace, and placed her arms around the shoulders of both Penny and Raven, now walking between them. " If you two don't know know your way around here then I can show you some good spots" She smiled.

" Places you haven't pissed off? " Penny questioned which recieved a small chuckle.

" No promises" the girl smiled as she began leading them down a few streets, eventually coming to stop a tavern with wooden sign hanging over the doorway. The sign read " The Bloody Sponge".

" The best place to get a drink, albeit a little pricey" The girl stepped past the two and entered the Tavern..

" You have money? " Penny asked Raven who took a long sigh. " Not for long".

The both of them entered the Tavern to find that it both well furnished and yet wreaking of strong ale. It was almost impressive considering that so many within the establishment were completely soaked in ale, and could barely stand.

They found the girl awaiting at the bar, and took seats beside her.

" So we will get you drinks but we have some questions.." Raven pointed out and the girl seemed all to happy to answer and all questions as she raised her hand to bring the attention of the bar tender to come their way.

" If you keep em coming, I'll answer as many as I can"

" Good, because we want to know who you are" Penny opened up strong, admittedly, she was impatient. Though, she didn't feel as though they needed to give the situation any more time than they already had.

" I am Keera. Don't have a last name, I was orphaned as a kid. I've been here since then. If you are asking about me because you want to know my life story, it's rarely made it past a drink " She answered quickly.

" Perhaps it would be better to get straight to the point then" Raven clasped her hands together and placed them on the bar.

" You look, incredibly, like someone that we know. Someone, that is very important, and her name is Kara. Very similar to your own name and we were just wondering..if you might know anything about that.." Raven awaited a response as the bartender took Keera's order.

" Nope. Don't know anyone by that name" she answered, again, quickly.

" Are you by any chance a Witch? " Penny knew that Kara was both Witch and Vampire, a super hybrid, nothing before or after her had ever truly existed.

" I am a vampire. I am not a Witch and I'm insulted by the question" Keera answered as she took a giant sip from her drink.

" So you don't like witches? " Penny asked.

" No" Keera replied, her answeres were becoming increasingly short, and this to both Raven and Penny, meant that they could have possibly been on to something with their line of questioning.

" Okay listen, I'm just going to break this down for you so that you understand. We aren't your enemies, we are your allies. And if you are not Kara, then fine. But you would save us time if you were completely truthful with us" Raven explained, hoping that her words would sink through.

Keera continued to drink, not responding immediatly as though she had to think on the right answer.

" I already told you that I don't know who is Kara. But, what I can tell you is that if you are looking for someone, I wouldn't go around harassing strangers. I would also tell you that, the person you seek, if they are a Witch, will not be found here. Despite the marriage of Unity, they are still not welcome here" Keera's words, seemed dismissive and Genuine to Raven.

" And why are Witches not welcome here? " Penny asked, hoping to at least get that much from her.

" Because at the end of the day, Witches are Witches. And they can't be trusted. Since the beginning they have done everything to control..the problem is, that we can't be controlled. And that bothers them. To us, it's only a matter of time before they try to take us down" Keera explained.

" The idea of the marriage, for us, is Unity. For them, it's about control. And you don't have to believe me, you don't have to believe us..but that is the truth. And if you think that little Princess of theirs is any different, then..well, you are fools"

Neither could deny the truth behind her words, and it would be enough motivation for an attack. A preemptive strike before they lose anything major within the Kingdom.

" They starved us. They forbade us from traveling to Earth, from feasting. The forbade us from feasting here. And unless something is done, then there is going to be a war. And more than likely, we are going to lose. We are stronger than them, but they have weakened us quite a bit even though it may not seem like it" She continued.

" Well, you aren't wrong. And we agree that things won't change the way that they are. And we want to do whatever it takes to make a change and we have the ability to do..whether you doubt us or not, we can. And we are sorry for the intrusion for what it's worth. We just thought you looked like someone who can help us and I guess..we were wrong" Penny turned around in her seat, ready to walk away when Keera slammed her glass down onto the bar.

" I never said that I would not help, I said that I wasn't the person you are looking for. And that means, I might better "
