Chapter 80

Sebastian's expression changed drastically. The easy smile faded, as did fine lines around his eyes and mouth  appear. Suddenly, Sebastian's vivacity and joviality were completely replaced by the look of an older, saddened man.

"Sorry Dad, I didn't mean to..."

"Not alright. She is your mother. Caitlin was wonderful. She was studying to be a nurse, so she stopped when we got pregnant. Then she decided that she would take care of you for a while, of course, before getting back to her studies. Unfortunately, she decided to leave the house and go to the market on the wrong day at the wrong time. There was an attack, and she was one of the victims of the madman who got there in shooting. She was the last one to get shot, before the police stopped him." Sebastian was crying. Alanna got up and went to him to hug her father.

"I'm sorry you lost the woman you loved, Dad."
