He had come

The houses, if they could be called houses, were tall.

Black, streamlined, tall.

The ground was black and so was the grass.

Yet- everything was marvelous.

Or rather, everything they could see seemed marvelous.

The floating transparent things, and the weird-shaped animals, peoples, and even weirder things- were definitely not something Theo and Emily registered in their brains.

Why?

Because in their world, these things were often called Ghosts or perhaps Monsters…

'Well, zombies were a thing, so why not? Right?' Theo tried to desperately console himself but it just wasn't working.

The denizens were mostly tall humanoid creatures with black skin. At least for the most part.

Few were light-skinned but those were a minority.

Besides, they all had something in common- dark eyes and oddly tall bodies.

Horns!

At least taller than both Theo and Emily.
