Chapter 33: The Gnomeland

With the giant bats dead, the return journey to the gnomes' underground society would take considerably longer than it had taken them to reach the trio in the first place.

A two-hour walk, apparently.

They left immediately, as everyone was so excited after the fight that there was no chance anyone would get further sleep that night.

The gnomes seemed surprised that Durri did not order them tied together as they went.

"What if we just ran away and left you here?" Migus asked.

"Then we'd go back to our camp and leave you to explain yourselves to Lord Jedebiah," said Durri. "I've given it some thought, and I don't know that you have much to gain from leaving us here. Even if you don't think we're actually going to kill the vampire lord."

Migus pondered this. He snorted and pulled a little further ahead.
