Hitman

Victor walked out of the dressing room to the elevator. He was already dressed in a T-shirt and jeans like an ordinary young man who wanted to hangout. Now, the only thing he wants is to go home and sleep. He felt that his day was very tiring and lasted longer than usual.

Victor tries to contact Ken, but is not picked up. Victor had no intention of sending a message. If Ken doesn't pick up the phone, it means that he is very busy. Victor decides not to wait for Ken. He planned to go home by himself, took the bus.

Just now he entered the elevator, and a man walked in. However, Victor could see the appearance of his ears sinking. Two seconds become dog ears, then disappear into ordinary human ears. It then appears again in a longer frequency, then disappears again.

Victor fell into deep thought, whether it was a threat or not. The man cultivated. He wears a T-shirt that says Metal Death.

"You... okay?" the man must have seen Victor looking pale.

Sweat oozes, from the armpits, to the back, and up to Victor's forehead. Victor's body turns into a pressed sponge, then oozes the liquid.

Victor stuttered to answer. He was afraid that the man was half a phantom who was also eyeing his energy. Somehow after all the things that happened, Victor believed himself to have something that every phantom and half-phantom creature wanted. How do you defend yourself in a narrow elevator?

"I'm okay," Victor said and forced himself to smile while wiping the sweat from the nape of his neck with his palms.

"Oh, really? But you look pale," the man observed Victor.

"Well. Because I'm hungry. That's it," Victor said, trying to stay calm.

A second later, after saying it, Victor asked him, where can he take refuge? Hope this guy is not a power-hungry half-phantom.

The person leaned against the elevator wall.

"I know. You are scared because you can see my form?"

Victor wide-eyed. Inwardly, is he going to start attacking me?

Victor then turned his head slowly.

"Don't worry. I don't lust to attack you. I ate energy during the full moon yesterday," the man said and smiled.

Victor felt a little relieved by the confession. But he can't fully feel free from threats.

"You know who I am?" asked Victor.

The man nodded and also shook his head. What does it mean?

"I don't know who you really are, but we half-phantom can feel that your energy must be good to eat," the man said ending with a smile.

"Oh yes, do you want to know where I get the energy for myself?"

Victor got goosebumps when he heard it. Although he didn't want to hear it, Victor wanted to know. In an uncertain state, Victor asked, "Where did it come from?"

The man smiled hideously once. "My girlfriend. As long as she is alive, I am committed to only drawing energy from her. She's a sweet and friendly human being. Always thinking positively, but his heart is filled with resentment. The energy feels interesting."

The man laughed and walked out when the elevator door opened on the third floor. A woman greeted her and they embraced. It seems that they had an appointment on the third floor of Falcon Face. During the time that the door opened, Victor saw more half-human creatures. Victor quickly closed the door. He just wanted to get to the lobby immediately. However, before the door closed, there were half-human and human young people entering the room.

Victor has begun to be sensitive to the difference between humans and half-phantom. Victor opted out of the elevator and went down using the escalator. Victor walked quickly through the people. In that brisk pace, he ran into many humans and half-phantom who looked familiar to each other. They seemed to laugh and joke, seeming to get along well.

Victor felt dizzy and nauseous. Is harmony just a ruse? His mind asked many questions that Victor couldn't answer on his own.

Victor didn't go to the bus stop or stop a taxi. He walked longly to tower 541. The distance is quite far. If taken on foot, it would take two hours to reach the tower, the apartment where he lives now. Victor hopes that Ken is already home and he can feel safe.

Victor's choice of walking home wasn't one that felt right now at the moment, as he saw more and more humans and half-phantom walking the same path. They move like there is no difference between them.

"Is it only me who can see all this?" asked Victor to himself. His feet had stopped stepping. He stopped in the middle of the pedestrian road.

Victor looked around. The humans and half-demons passed through it. There were some who looked towards him with a look of astonishment. None of them said hello. Of course, they don't know each other.

"Have they been living in peace with each other all this time?" Victor asked himself again. His question echoed in his mind alone.

Victor also recalled the remarks of the half-demon man he met in the elevator. The man took his own girlfriend's energy.

"Does it not mean murder?"

Victor recalled Ken's remark, "Phantom and half-phantom survive by consuming human energy. They nurture humans as their energy intake."

Humans became the pets of the phantoms and the half-phantom sounded wrong. If it is applied to himself, Victor feels looked down upon by both kinds of creatures.

"That's not true, is it?" denied Victor in his mind.

Victor walked home. Step slowly while understanding a world never seen before.

Victor stopped at a pedestrian bridge. He stared down, where cars were passing by. The sky looked dark and overcast. Victor didn't realize that it was now entering the rainy season.

Victor stood on the pedestrian bridge for a long time. His body became cold from the drizzle. His brain stopped thinking.

"Since when did this happen to me?"

He meant his vision. Since when did his vision change and could see the difference between half-phantoms and humans?

Victor was taken aback and stared straight ahead. The light of the distant lamp seemed to fade from where it stood because the drizzle deflected the direction of the light. Victor remembered, His vision has changed since he walked out of Mario's room. He remembered Mario holding his head and he felt something flow in and then like something was breaking the blockage between his eyebrows.

"Woi! What are you doing there?" a man's voice awakened Victor's reverie.

Victor turned his head and saw a shabbily dressed man in a hoodie and baggy jeans staring at him fiercely. He stuck out his tongue to sweep his lips.

"Apparently I wasn't wrong. You have interesting blood. Your energy... I want it," the man said, then pulled out a knife.

Who is he? Victor was surprised and it was not the right choice to just do nothing. Victor ran away from the person. He had no martial arts skills. However, he is not a bad runner.

The street man chased Victor behind. The run is also fast and no match for Victor.

Victor was caught. His shoulder was grabbed by the man and Victor was knocked to the ground.

The streets are quiet. No one is willing to walk in the drizzle.

The street man pointed the knife at Victor. Miss! Because Victor rolled over and stood up straight again. Victor ran again. It doesn't matter in which direction, the important thing is to be able to save himself.

"Good food, not to be missed!" said the street man, laughing happily and chasing Victor happily. He enjoys hunting time.

"The longer you are frightened, the better your energy will taste!"

The man used his strength to jump. One leap is equivalent to a thousand steps forward. It shortened it and was easily in front of Victor. Without wasting the opportunity, the man kicked Victor over.

Victor slumped backwards. The man burst into laughter and walked up to Victor with joy.

"But unfortunately I don't have time to play cat-and-cat. I have to kill you, bring your head to him, but before that... I have to take your energy first. I'm curious, what power will be gained if you eat your energy."

Victor, who felt heartburn in his stomach from the blow, couldn't stand up straight as before. The man was already standing in front of Victor. He grabbed Victor's hair.

"Who are you?" asked Victor.

"Humm... What's the point of knowing who I am if you're going to die soon? Someone paid a heavy price for your blood and head."

Somebody? Some even sent assassins for me?

The man fiddled with the knife in front of him. "But, I will tell you so that you are honored to know who killed you. If you turn into an evil spirit, I will wait for your revenge," the man said, deliberately mocking Victor as a helpless prey.

Victor rebelled. He tried to hit the man's body but only the wind was hit. The man burst into laughter. Victor was already almost at the peak of his fear.
