Bonus chapter: Comparison

"Didn't get her name?" The girl nodded at Yuuya's question, seeing that his guess was correct Yuuya looked at the crying child.

"Come now strong girls don't cry like this," Yuuya said bringing the crying girl's attention to him.

"Isamu needs ...Mommy," The girl spoke between cries as she looked at Yuuya with her big red eyes.

"This kind sister here will help you find mommy if you tell her your name," Yuuya said his voice getting softer each time much to the shock of the woman since his tone was flat before.

"Mommy told Isamu to not give her name to strangers," The girl spoke still sniffling, she wasn't crying loudly like before so that meant she was a bit distracted. She had already given half her name till now.

"Then you leave me no choice, The tickle monster is going to attack you," Yuuya said as he started to tickle the girl slowly.

"Ahaha, Stop, haha," The girl started giggling it seems she was weak to tickle.

"If you say your name it will go away," Yuuya said.

"Haha, Tachibana Isamu, Ah the tickle monster really went away," Isamu looked surprised as Yuuya stopped, children easily believe people since they don't have normal notions settled in their minds yet.

If you do this to a 10-year-old kid he might call the mental institution for you, kids were like this these days. Such things only work on the younger kids who are three to four since they haven't learned anything yet.

"Yes, it is because Isamu is so strong and courageous that the monster ran away being scared," Yuuya said as Isamu brightened up.

"Isamu's name is Isamu after all, So Isamu is full of courage," She grinned proudly, at this point the thought that she was lost was already gone. Yuuya smiled slightly before looking up at the woman.

'There you have the name now,' His eyes conveyed his message over properly.

"I-I'll be back after I make the announcement," The lady ran at top speed leaving Yuuya dumbfounded.

'At least take the kid with you,' Yuuya felt his head hurt as he looked at the lady who ran away.

"Woah! Yuuya you made it look so easy, Also isn't Isa-chan totes adorbs, damn I want to squish those cheeks so bad," Marin seemed to have been watching them for a little while now, it just that Yuuya didn't address her as he was busy.

"I am used to taking care of kids, Also, phrasing," Yuuya said as Marin had a look of realization.

'It might be because of his siblings,' Marin got that half right while ignoring Yuuya's last words, but leaving that aside she had another thing coming for her.

"Nii-chan who is this weird lady?" Isamu asked pulling on Yuuya's shirt.

"Haha, Even if she is calling me weird she is so cute that I can't get mad," Marin was over the moon because of Isamu.

"Why are you calling her weird?" Yuuya asked ignoring the reaction Marin was giving.

"It is because of the doggy chain on her neck," Isamu said pointing at the choker on Marin's neck.

"...That seems like a good question, Care to answer that?" Yuuya looked at Marin with his usual flat look, but she could see that he was a little amused by the situation.

"Ugh, How do I explain this?" Marin had more changes in her facial expression trying to think of a reason she can say, but she couldn't find one.

"Ah look at the line, I am going," In the end, she chooses to run away.

"Isamu would you like some ice cream?" Yuuya turned his head to Isamu who was confused as to why Marin ran away, But…

"Ice cream," She immediately beamed at the mention of the ice cream. Yuuya stood up and took her to the nearest ice cream stall to get her something.

A few minutes later,

Yuuya and Isamu were sitting on the same bench as before, they finished their ice lolly that Yuuya bought.

'The announcement was made her parents should be coming soon,' Yuuya thought as he looked at the stick that read 'Better luck next time'

"Nii-chan Isamu won," Isamu said showing Yuuya the ice cream stick.

"You don't really look surprised," Yuuya said seeing the lack of reaction on Isamu's face.

"It is because Isamu always wins, everyone says Isamu is lucky but, Isamu doesn't like it," Isamu pouted, Yuuya understood that she was unhappy because she doesn't get enough praise for winning something and it was played off by luck.

'I mean it is luck but…' Yuuya paused his thought for a moment before saying his next words.

"You're not lucky Isamu,"

"What? Nii-chan thinks so?" Isamu asked.

"Isamu, You said that you always win a prize from the ice cream or other luck-based games, right?" Isamu nodded at Yuuya's words, she mostly does win it.

"Then you aren't lucky if you always win since that is a constant state, for you, it is normal because you win 100 out of 100 times, But it is different for others since they don't always win, they might only win a few numbers of times in 100 tries, which makes you lucky in their view when in reality that is normal for you," What Yuuya meant simply meant was the parameter for luck changes from person to person, one person might walk down the road and find a 100 yen coin every day that is a constant for him, and one man will only find it once a month.

If you look at it from the point of view of the man who gets a 100 yen coin for free once a month the guy who gets it daily is super lucky but for the guy himself that is normal and almost negligible.

That is how it is just something based on the comparison, just like how it is ridiculous for a skinny man to think why he can't lift as much as the strongest man on the planet.

This inclination to compare oneself to others is an inherent aspect of human nature, as individuals are social beings and inclined to compare themselves to those within their social group, whether in regard to appearance, physical ability, or material wealth.

Though one might argue why was Yuuya talking about this to a little 4-year-old girl.

"Oh, Isamu gets what Nii-chan is saying," Isamu seemed proud that she was able to understand it.

"What did you understand?" Yuuya was a bit amused.

"Nii-chan Isamu has a Nee-chan, but Isamu doesn't like her," Isamu folded her hand unhappily.

"Why?" Yuuya asked.

"It is because Nee-chan eats half of Isamu's ice cream every time and says it is only a small bite for her and Isamu should grow up faster, so Isamu understands what Nii-chan was saying," Isamu pouted she really didn't seem to like what this nee-chan of hers was saying to her.

"I see, Isamu sure is intelligent," Yuuya patted the girl's shoulder-length purple hair lightly making her smile proudly.

"It is because Isamu's name is Isamu, that Isamu is intelligent," Isamu giggled happily.

"I see, do you want another ice cream as a reward?" Yuuya asked and Isamu nodded enthusiastically.

Yuuya took her to the ice stall again where Isamu showed them that she won previously. She got a white bunny keychain for that as the lady at the stall smiled seeing Isamu's bright smile.

"Isamu won again," Isamu said loudly as Yuuya saw his ice cream stick again only to see 'Better luck next time'

"I am dying I need water," Marin said as she sat down beside the two and Yuuya handed her a bottle of water he bought before. He knew Marin would need it given how much she talks.

"Why do I feel like you thinking something rude about me?" Marin narrowed her eyes looking at Yuuya.

"Just your imagination," Yuuya answered flatly.

"Oh, you're following the script that means I am right," Marin grinned poking Yuuya's side with her elbow.

"Just go and finish this so that I can go home," Yuuya said as Marin stood up ready to go but before flashing Yuuya a mischievous smile.

"Nii-chan Isamu wants another prize," Isamu said and Yuuya took her to the ice cream stall to get her another white bunny keychain.

"Nii-chan this is for you," Isamu gave Yuuya the second keychain after thinking for a while.

"For me?" Yuuya tilted his head.

"Yes, since Nii-chan didn't win Isamu want to share what she got, Ka-san always taught Isamu to share, Does Nii-chan not want it?" Isamu looked a bit sad at the end.

"...I'll take it," Yuuya took the keychain as Isamu smiled while walking back to the bench, she seemed to be in a good mood right now.
