Chapter 15: Promises of a Witch

Hailey’s POV

I chase Angus through a series of dark corridors, until we finally reach a kind of dead end, behind which there is only one door.

“It's there,” he says, and crosses his arms, while leaning against one of the walls.

“Won't you come with me?”

“Are you afraid, puppy? No, I can't go with you. Witches only take in those who need something from them, and for now, I don't need anything, so...” He shrugs.

“Well, thanks anyway.”

I then leave Angus behind and open the door, as all other sounds fade away, and as I enter a large room, almost as big as the club itself, and which has a red velvet armchair in its center, shaped like a crescent moon. In front of it is a clear circular glass table, with a base that looks like it's made of unpolished diamonds, casting rainbow reflections across the room.

“Come in. Sit down,” says a siren-like voice, and then I notice the woman coming out of one of the corners, as if out of nowhere.
