Chapter 16: The Eye of the Storm

Hailey’s POV

Behind the door is Angus, patiently waiting for me, although well, his expression is not exactly painted with patience, but at the very least, he has stayed and that's something.

“Did you have fun in there?” he asks me with slyness in his voice, as we get going.

“I don't know if ‘fun’ is the right word. It certainly didn't go the way I expected it to go, but it was interesting.”

“Witches are always interesting,” Angus admits.

“How did you meet Morgan?” I ask him with interest, and he, in turn, raises an eyebrow.

“Did she tell you her name? Wow, that's something.”

“She didn't tell me her name. She said it wasn't her name, but that I could use it if I needed to,” I affirm, confused and not knowing what it all means.

“I know. Real witches, they say it has power, but they don't just give you any nickname either. That she told you what they call her is something. She never told me,” he said, and I suddenly felt guilty for revealing that.
