The men rise then, struggling to their feet, as more and more wolves begin to arrive to surround us. They are a huge army, as intimidating as the prison before me, disguised as a palace, but in this instant, fear gives me strength, so I let them come without regard, knowing that none of them can touch us as long as I have this vibration, this feeling of strength that is born in my chest and that commands them.


“I promise I'll explain everything,” I whisper to Owen as I watch the wolves soon surround us. "But for now, I need you to shift.”


He looks at me, his eyes veiled in thought, but he obeys, in an instant his body transforms and he stands up as I do too.


I look at Tobias with hatred and determination, and then I let the force of royal blood burst through my voice in the middle of an order.


“You will not attack us,” I order. “And you will bring us before the king. Now.”
