008 : Graduation And Teams

After a long time of waiting, the graduation to a Genin finally happened.

The test was vastly different from what was shown in the anime or the manga.

You had to run the distance of 10 Km in under 15 minutes, had to hit the still and moving targets at the distance of 15 and 10 metres respectively at least 5 times out of 10 with kunai and shuriken.

Had to perform the "10 basic jutsu" along with transformation, escape and clone jutsus.

Most of the people in the class passed this testing, well except Naruto that is, he couldn't do the clone and transformation properly.

But considering him being Jinchuriki, he will be promoted none the less.

I don't know if the drama from the cannon would happen or not, and I don't care about it, anything I could have used from that roll of secrets, I already had that.

'We' celebrated our graduation with a party at Akimichi's, all of us nine except Naruto were present.

I just went there as courtesy and returned early after eating my fill.

The next day, I got to the academy.

The segregation into teams was finally going to be happened, I get to know which of these idiots I will be together with for the coming year.

Iruka walked in with papers in his hands as everyone greeted him.

"Good morning everyone, as you all know, today you will be distributed in genin teams"

"Be sure to remember that these are going to be your teammates and comrades that will watch your back, be kind to them and respect them"

"Enough talk, let's move on, but before the final work, let's put these on you" he said as he pulled out a scroll out and released the seal to bring everything out.

It contained the konoha headband, the signifying that you were a konohagakure ninja.

He started handing out one to everyone as he also have the piece of cloth to attach it with.

I am not keen with branding myself with anything so I asked for the leg band.

He gave me one even though looking skeptically at me.

I wouldn't give two shits about this whole village if my property was not in its land, heck, when it's not of use to me anymore I would leave this damned place.

It's just an empty shell of once a great settlement, the very thought of living here sickens me.

There is corruption at every corner, some injustice happening every minute, discrimination against the weaker was a norm, while being poor had became a sin in itself.

Most people had forgotten the basic respect that one had for its species, not the respect one has for strong, not the respect one had for the rich, but the respect one has for his own kind.

That was what I had been taught, even when you became a wild animal of harm to everyone, a beast that destroys, even that beast has some respect for its species at some point, these people doesn't.

Even if the whole world went to shit, that was one thing one should not loose.

Its different when you do that to an enemy from when you do it just for the sake of doing it.

I tied the small metal plate to just above my knee as I went back to my seat.

In just a few minutes, everyone was done with their bands as Iruka finally took out that folder.

He removed the seal from it as he took out the papers from inside.

Without waiting a bit, he started reading names out.

"[random guy-1] [random girl-1]

[random guy-2] Teacher [Random Jonin-1 "

"[random guy-3] [random guy-4][random girl-2], Teacher [Random Jonin-2]"

"Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi, Teacher : Asuma Sarutobi"

Well, there goes the Ino-Shika-Cho, looks like everything's gonna be the same as cannon, *sigh*

"[random guy-4][random girl-3][random girl-4], Teacher : Random Jonin 3"

"Hinata Hyuga, Shino Aburame, Kiba Inuzuka, Teacher : Kurenai Yuhi"

Yep, it seems everything is gonna stick to the plot, my advantage I guess, there will be less changes in the plot, making everything a lot more predictable.

Here it comes.

"Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, Teacher : Kakashi Hatake"

Fine, I'll play how you want to, but I will be making changes in the future.

He announced the remaining teams as well as he said "Familiarise with each other, your Jonin teachers will come in half an hour." Iruka said as he walked out of the room fast to avoid a few annoying voices.

I meditated under the guise of sleeping as I knew it would be at least a few hours before kakashi enters.

Naruto continued his shenanigans while sakura sat in a corner as eyed me like a piece of snickers.

I was already starting to dislike her, as for Naruto, no one liked him anyways.
