"So, do you want to know?" I ask them in a mysterious tone.
"If you don't want to say it, that's fine," Natasha comments, rolling her eyes at my tone.
"Well, it's fine if you want to know, in the end you will realize this ability"
"An ability, are you a mutant?" asks a curious Sharon.
When Laura heard her question, she looks at me expectantly.
I smile ironically, since I have to disappoint her.
"I'm not a mutant" I tell them, only to see a disappointed Laura.
And it's true, I'm not a mutant. When I found out about my gifts, the first thing I did upon receiving my break from SHIELD was go directly to a doctor for an exam, in the end they found nothing of the X-Gene in me.
When I tell them that I am not a mutant they are surprised.
"I don't know what strange ability I have either but I know it's in my right hand..." after a pause I continue.
"I only know that as long as I come into contact with strange abilities, I can eliminate them"
When I finish speaking, Laura touches my right hand and unsheathes her claws.
She tilts her head in confusion at that and says:
"My power still works Alex"
Smiling at her confusion, I say:
"It doesn't work on your claws because they are something physical that you were born with but try to retract them"
Nodding her head, she does it; when her claws retract, she realizes that the wounds where her claws came out are not healing. Surprised, she lets go of my hand and instantly her wounds heal.
Everyone who sees this are shocked.
I don't understand 'Imagine Breaker' either, although it suppresses the X-Gene, there are exceptions like Laura's claws.
Ending the conversation, I turn my gaze to Elektra and ask her:
"So, miss, when can you explain to us why you help us?"
Surprised by my question the Captain asks me:
"Isn't she your friend?"
I look at the Captain speechlessly, wondering when I said she was my friend.
The Captain, noticing my surprise, looks at Elektra and asks:
"Then why did you help us?"
"I helped you because I didn't want The Hand take the children" was the only answer Elektra gave before falling silent.
Looking at this I know it will be a long journey.
