During the trip I decide to relax, while watching the children, I still don't know who to leave them with, but whoever it is, I must make sure not to expose them too much to danger.
While I was having these thoughts someone sat next to me, without looking I knew it was Laura.
"What's happening?" I ask her as I pat her head.
"We are a team Alex" says Laura.
I was stunned for a moment, before recovering, I put an ironic smile on my face while I think that this girl saw through me.
"It's normal that she's attached to you and doesn't want to be separated from you" says Barbara who heard our conversation.
What a fool I have been.
Because I was thinking about where to leave them, I didn't think about who they wanted to be with.
It may be difficult, but if they want me to take care of them, I'll do everything I can to make it so.
With a smile while I continue patting her head, I tell her:
"You're right, we are a great team"
My response seems to calm Laura and the other children.
The adults of the place only show a smile at my interaction with the children.
Three hours later
We had arrived in New York; the children's last shelter was near the warehouses.
Arriving at the place, little Adrian and the other telepathic girl named Alice, who had been in the second shelter, help us to contact them.
Seconds later we see how the door of a warehouse is opened by a child, when he sees Adrian, he greets him.
Seeing the boy's action, I breathe a sigh of relief as I think: 'I finally found all of them'.
I knew that now comes the hardest part, but I don't care, I'll think of a way to do it.
As we start to leave the place, I turn to Natasha and ask her:
"When will my transport come?"
"I already told Fury and he said that the new transport will arrive in half an hour"
When I hear her words, I relax and just hope that nothing happens while we wait.
