CHAPTER 35

Susan sat in the garden, staring at nothing in particular as she willingly allowed the thought of a handsome blaggard to fill her mind. Sometimes she hated herself for not being able to control herself when it came to Edmund because the man had done nothing but ruin her life. He succeeded in breaking and crushing her into pieces without a care, leaving the bitter taste of rejection on her tongue. Worst of all, he had done all that to her with her consent.

She knew well that a man like Edmund was a danger zone and she had willingly dashed into it without a care in the world and now she was left with the consequences of her action. Memories. Sometimes she deliberately spent time outside her room so as not to be reminded of their time together, but who was she kidding? Those memories always hit her like a tsunami, giving her no breathing space. The man's memories were carved in her heart like precious treasure. It had become a baggage she was forced to carry along with her.
