"And do what?" Gavin asked. "We both know who will win that fight." He checked her shoulder. "Glad to see you healed so well. Sorry if I was rough. I got a little carried away. I couldn't let Greer get the formula before I did."
"Your apology means nothing to me," Lily said coldly. "I want nothing more to do with you. Get out of my house."
"Oh, but I wish I could," Gavin said mockingly. "Unfortunately, you've spilled the beans to your boyfriend. Now he knows too much. That means it's time for him to depart this world."
"No!" Lily cried, clamping a hand over her mouth. "He doesn't know anything. I swear."
