Chapter 29: Wedding Plans

They spent the rest of the evening hammering out details. As Leopold had said, the chatty Edith and the taciturn John were more than happy to handle all of the details.

Leopold insisted on hosting a small, informal reception in addition to the ceremony, a concession that both Nico and Rebecca made because he seemed to have his heart set on it.

With speed and efficiency that frankly astonished Rebecca, Edith took charge of everything else. In a few short hours, she had drawn up detailed plans for the invitations, the hors d'oeuvres and champagne for the reception, the wedding cake, the decorations, the photography, the flowers, chair and arbor rentals, the officiant, and extra staff.

She even planned to make hair and makeup appointments for Rebecca, leaving her and Nico to see after their own clothes. Nico planned on wearing a nice suit instead of a tux, and Rebecca would purchase an informal wedding dress.
