"Let's get a drink," Ruby suggested as the three of them stepped outside Aunt Flory's hospital room.


"Good idea," Mr. Nelson replied. "It's on me."


"Wait for me," Dr. Tanner called after them as they headed for the cafeteria.


They slowed their pace, waiting for him to join them.


"She looks tired," Mr. Nelson said. "Verna's still with her."


"Would you do me a favor?" he asked, thrusting a clipboard at Zoey. "Will you give these to Flory? I was called back to the office for an emergency. It's paperwork for her to fill out when she's feeling better. Nothing urgent. Tell her I'll stop by again later."


"No problem," Zoey said, taking the clipboard. "I'll take it to her right now."


"We'll meet you in the cafeteria," Ruby said as Zoey bounded back toward the room.
