Chapter 23: Comfort

Abel stood up and held out both hands to Luke. "Here, I'll help you stand."

Luke tentatively took his hands, focused more on his motor skills cooperating than the nervous cloud around him. He made it upright, and with the weight of his body, it felt like a great accomplishment.

Abel let go of his hands and instead looped his arm around his shoulder, supporting some of his weight. "Can you walk?"

It required a lot of mental effort to do so, but Luke managed to walk beside him. His thoughts didn't move at normal speed, but as he and Abel walked through the shop, Luke stopped to thank the shop owner.

"Not a problem," the owner said with a nod. "I hope you feel better."
