Chapter 24: Memory

Luke blinked his eyes open in an unfamiliar room. His brows knitted and he pushed himself up on his elbows to look around, confusion covering his brain in a thick sludge. His body was covered up in a comforter, and after a beat, he recognized it as Abel's.

Why was he in Abel's room?

Luke looked at the door and his neck twinged sharply at the motion. He hissed through his teeth, his hand jumped to his neck, and he frowned. His neck had a bandage on it, a wide square of gauze with tape around it.

The memory of going with The Faith to hunt a vampire settled in slowly, but he couldn't remember anything after that. The bandage on his neck clued him in that he must've been bitten—a terrifying thought, especially now that the venom had wiped his memory clean.

Somehow, he'd ended up at Abel's apartment, the absolute last place he should be.
