Luke chose a seat far away from Abel and Damon, but the brothers burned into Luke's peripheral vision. He worried for them; he wondered if they knew that members of The Faith owned the café. Luke had zeroed in on the lily of the valley sticker in the window as they'd walked in, but he knew that it was probably because he was used to looking for it.
As far as Luke knew, he was the only one who had the Herald's photo to know that Damon was the half-vampire. Judging by the fact that no one else in the busy café was paying the brothers any mind, they were safe.
Luke tried to decompress and pay attention to the menu in front of him. He'd never been to this café before, a place that Whitney had chosen at random from a list online, but not even the exciting menu of latte options could stop him from glancing over at the brothers' table every few seconds.
