Chapter 40: Unexpected Turn

“Oh, it is getting late,” Parker said reluctantly. She slid off Lucien’s lap, but he grabbed her again and pulled her onto the bed. Parker laughed, struggling against his arms, but he was too strong for her to break away from.

“You could stay here again,” he said. Parker sighed as Lucien nuzzled the back of her neck with his nose. It sent a pleasant shudder down Parker’s spine. She felt her whole body warm.

She didn’t want to leave Lucien. The way he made her feel, she knew now that she did love him, and she wanted to show him that. She was still nervous, though, and being alone with him in a bed all night made her wonder what would happen.

“Yeah, because that worked out so well the last time,” she teased. Lucien kissed the back of her neck, still not letting her go. Then he kissed her earlobe, nibbling gently on the supple skin. Parker shuddered, biting back a moan as tingles of pleasure shot through her whole body.
