Six's pov, I didn't bother to fight back as I was dragged through the hallway, towards what I assumed was my death, instead, I just excepted it.
I looked out the window to my left and was greeted with the bright late morning sun.
after a few minutes of being dragged, we stopped outside a wooden door that had stained glass for privacy.
one of the men knocked gently on the door, and patiently waited a response from the other side.
"enter..." was the only thing I heard from the other side.
they opened the door and dragged me into the room, forcefully placed me into a chair and left, leaving me alone in the room with the person infront of me.
his head was buried in a folder, most likely a report of the incident that just transpired.
a light chuckle rumbled through out the room.
"quite the predicament you've got yourself in, huh?" the man chuckled as he placed down the folder.
revealing his aged face, an eyepatch rested on his right eye, his graying brushed back hair nearly reached his shoulders, his left eye stared at me with a satistic gaze.
he wore a extravagant white three piece suit, with a chain connected to his pocket.
"I'm not going to ask why you did what you did, but it must of been something really bad to make you stab the poor kid thirty-seven times." he said with a smirk.
"t-thirty-seven times?" I questioned in disbelief.
"mmhm, thirty-seven times, in the face, neck, and chest..." he counted the areas off with his fingers.
I wanted to at least explain why I did it, but even I think I might of went over board.
'I guess I'm going to die, huh? if that's the case then I only got one regret, not being able to fine the bastard that destroyed my life' I thought in disdain at the last couple years.
after all, the only good thing's that came out of this place was my group, there the closest thing's I've got to friend's since I was forced into this hell hole.
"come with me." the man's voice knocked me out of my thoughts.
"um doctor, where are we going?" I asked as I followed him out the office.
"ah, sometimes I forget that you've only been here for a couple years, how old are you again?" He rambled as we walked down the hall.
"eleven, sir, but you should of known that, since you're the head of this place..." I muttered in response.
"heh, you're right, I just wanted to see if you've suffered any memory problems from the augmentation's." he laughed as if he heard the best joke he could ever hear.
this man is the head of this place, everything that happens in this place, no matter how secretive you are, he'll know about it.
he is also the 'doctor' of sorts, and these augmentation's are to make our bodies stronger, faster, and more resilient then ever.
it also destroys the pain receivers in you're nerves, so you barely feel pain.
at least, that's what everybody keeps saying.
he tares our bodies apart in order to inject an odd liquid into each bone, joint, ligament, muscle, every part of our bodies is part of the process.
why couldn't he just inject the serum into our arm's and be done with it? the answer is simple, he wants us to feel every single scrap of pain, so we won't fear getting hurt in the future.
rumors have been floating around as to why he does these things to us, some say it's to progress the human body past it limits, some say it's to create living weapons, I say it's because the sick bastard gets his kicks from seeing people in severe pain.
"where are we going sir?" I asked after a few minutes of walking.
we arrived at a large double metal door, with dark grey handles, he placed his hand on the handle and looked back at me with a wicked grin on his face.
"you'll see..." he laughed as he opened the door.
I was greeted by the desert heat under the bright sun, ahead of us was a black, slim car that reminded me of a limousine, that was parked on the sandy road.
"get in..." he ordered me, as he got in the back.
I climbed in, and was instantly assaulted by the cool air of air-conditioning, which was a relatively new experience for me, mainly because we've never had air-conditioning, dispite being such a in a large building in the damn desert.
like a limousine the back-ish area of the vehicle screamed luxury, dark leather cushioned seats nearly formed a full square, the only part of the area that didn't have seats was, for obvious reasons, the door's.
the window's where tinted, so nobody could see inside the vehicle, though I've got no idea who this guy was trying to hide from, but instantly remembered what his 'line of work' is and could see a lot of people not agreeing with this.
but in the end, nobody give a crap, why, because it's simple, if a small country was getting invaded by a much larger country simply because they want something the smaller one has, would you care? if you're not part of either country, then it doesn't effect you, sure you can feel bad, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter because it doesn't effect you, that's human nature.
we all prioritize our needs before anyone else's, I've experienced this first hand.
I looked up at the sunroof, it was also tinted, but wasn't as dark as the windows, I looked closely and saw a nearly transparent reflection of myself staring back at me, blue eye's, and short messy black hair, with a blank expression on my face, as if there was no emotion in me, not one sliver of any emotion.
but that's not true, I knew if felt emotion's but, they weren't happiness or any warm tingly emotion's like that, no all I felt was anger, and sadness, sadness to for not being able to protect the thing's closest to me, and anger for the people that took everything I cared about away.
"we're here, finally..." I was knocked out of my dark thoughts, when I heard the doctor's voice.
he quickly climbed out of the vehicle and stretched, with a yawn, I heard multiple pop's and cracks, from his back.
after I got out, I looked up at the cloudless sky, the sun now hung high in the sky.
I looked around and saw nothing for hundreds of miles, I looked back at the doctor and saw him walking away from the limousine, and heading further into the boiling desert.
I followed him for a couple more minutes, he suddenly stopped moving, looked back at me.
"look down." he ordered with a grin.
I looked down and was surprised at what I saw.
a large hole that spanded at least a couple meters across the desert, and definitely more then ten meters deep, laid in front of me.
'how come I didn't see this before?' I thought to myself as I stared down the giant abyss.
"you didn't see it before because it's usually hidden from the world." he said as if he could read my thoughts.
"why did you bring me here?" I asked, knowing the answer was probably to put a bullet in the back of my head.
'but it didn't make sense to take me out here just to shoot me, so what's the real reason he brought me here?' I continued to ponder on my thoughts.
"there's about three generations of beasts down there..." he suddenly spoke from behind me.
"as you know, there is no killing allowed in my domain, unless I say so..." his voice came out dark and hateful, "so this is you're punishment!"
he pushed me into the dark pit, gravity instantly took effect, and I was in a free fall, as I rapidly descended into the dark, I hit something, a sharp pain assaulted me as I was sent tumbling.
with a vicious slam on the ground, I rolled onto my back and stared up at the bright sun.
'did the darkness disappear, or is is something else?' I thought to myself as I laid still to avoid any unnecessary pain.
"I'll be back in three day's, figure out a way to get back up by then, if you don't I'll deduce that you are dead, oh, and here." he called out from the top.
and right after the last words left his mouth, something pierced the ground mere centimeters away from my head, I looked over at the object, it was a Gladius short sword, the blade had odd inscriptions written along the blade, with a black handle.
"oh, you might what to start moving, they are now aware of you're presence, and they won't stay still for long." he laughed as he returned to the car.
I heeded his word's, and the only thought that ran through my head was.
'I'm not dying here today!'
