Episode 26

Shukashima POV

We stared at the hybrid and thought of ways on how to take it down.

"First we need to get back your blade...you run in a let it lower it's guard and I'll get your blade"Veronica said...we charged into action.

Veronica was better skilled with a blade than me so if anyone was to kill that thing it would be her.

I ran by the side of the hybrid... surprisingly it was able to keep it's eye on both of us.

It raised both its hand and slammed it on the ground creating a massive wave pushing me and Veronica backward.

"Shit...this might be tougher than I thought" Veronica said and smiled.

She rushed at the hybrid again but it evaded her attack.

I suddenly had an idea and picked up some rocks on the ground.

I ran towards the hybrid and made it focus it's attention on me.

Just then Veronica had jumped to attack it from above.

I quickly threw the rocks one after the other in an attempt to hit it's eye, luckily one of the rocks hit it's eye and it moved back a little letting it's guard down on itself,then Veronica lashed at it and cut off its hand that my blade was stuck unto.

She takes out my blade and tosses it to me..."now let kill this thing"I said and we rushed heads on at the hybrid.

We attacked from every angle and I was quite shocked that eye with one damaged eye the hybrid did it's best to keep track of our movement.

Just then Veronica slid under the hybrid and cut one of it's leg sending it on its knees then I quickly understood what she had in mind.

We began to cut the hybrid down piece by piece.

I leaped at it and took off it's other hand while Veronica took off it's other leg.

The hybrid was finally down and defenseless and Veronica delivered the final blow cutting off it's head.

"Wow...I kinda wanted to keep fighting it...I was starting to get used to the blade"I said and sat on floor feeling tired from the long fights that have been happening this night.

Daniel then walked towards us and complemented us for killing the hybrid and insisted we hurry and find a place to stay.

I looked at Bridget and she was already looking pale.

I asked Daniel if we can switch places,he takes the blade and I carry Bridget.

Daniel agreed saying she was already getting heavy.

I felt Soo sorry for Bridget...I should have been the person in this situation not her.

"Don't worry Bridget,I will find a way to help you"I said and Daniel placed her on my back.

"We need to be very careful...there could be more hybrids around here"Veronica said and we continued moving.

As we went deeper into the town...

We saw more corpses of both humans and x-victims.

"Looks like this place was a feeding ground for the x-victims"Daniel said at this sight of corpse on the road.

I looked down the street and saw a tall building,i notified Daniel and Veronica.

"It looks perfect"Veronica said and we headed towards the building.

I quickly thought about how empty the road was.

The only things here were the corpses,no vehicle around.

We suddenly heard a sound from a building beside us,like someone broke down a wall.

We all knew it was a x-victim and started to run.

"Holy shit how many of these things are here"Daniel asked and halted his movement,turned around and prepared to fight off the x-victims.

"What are you doing you fool run"Veronica shouted at him but Daniel didn't pay attention to her words.

"C'mon I need to get in on the action"Daniel said as he was about to recklessly sacrifice his life to fight the x-victims.

"Shukashima stay close"Veronica said and went to help Daniel.

Suddenly Bridget began to shake on my back,the virus must be having it's effect on her.

She gripped my shoulder firmly and gave out aloud cry,she was in pain.

Daniel heard her voice and rushed quickly towards us.

"Shukashima what's wrong"he asked me.

"I don't know she just screamed...I think the virus has started it's affect on her",I replied.

I looked and realized that Daniel had just left Veronica to fight alone.

I took the blade from him and went to help her.

"I have it under control,go look after Bridget"Veronica said.

I explained to her how Daniel is the one looking after her.

We quickly disposed of the x-victims and continued to head towards the building.

Bridget still looked in pain.

We got to the building and it's electricity was still intact.

"Keep a Sharpe eye everyone"Daniel said.

We went into the building,by the looks of it the building was a hospital

Just as we stepped in,we were shocked by what we saw.

We saw a hybrid eating on it fellow hybrid.

I gasped and watched in fear.

Daniel uses a hand signal telling us to head for the stairs.

Just as we were quietly making our way towards the stairs Bridget gave out a loud cry and it made the hybrid aware of our presence.

"Run"Daniel said and we all ran to the stairs.

The hybrid began to come after us,but because of it fat nature it had little speed it it's movement.

"Wtf...dude do hybrids eat Thier kind"I asked still shocked from what I saw.

Daniel didn't reply and just kept running.

The hybrid came up the stairs with us but kept falling alot of times when it goes up some steps.

We saw a door and went through it,it lead to the water supply room of the hospital.

We decided to stay in there and hide for a while,we moved around a little and found the dead body of what who we think were some employees of the hospital.

Just as the hybrid got to the door of the room we were in,it stood in front of it for a while then Daniel said we should exit using the door at the other side of the room.

The door lead to inside the hospital.

We kept moving to find a secured room to stay in.

Just then the hybrid came out of the water supply room and kept going after us.

We passed the delivery room of the hospital and Daniel told me and Veronica to hold off the hybrid,he went into the room to keep Bridget.

Veronica and I then went after the hybrid,

"Veronica I don't know about you...but I am very tired right now"I said holding firmly at my blade with both hands.

The hybrid came towards our direction, Veronica charged at it and managed to deliver a cut to it's mid section but the hybrid ignored her and kept charging at the door.

"Holy shit...it's after Bridget"Veronica said and I quickly went to attack.

I did the attack we made on the last hybrid and took off I hand.

"You won't lay a hand on Bridget"I said with a glare Soo furious it made Veronica gasp in fear.
