The Decorated Room

When Jeanohntae reached the bedroom, she quickly got out the accessories for the bathroom and neatly placed them in their respected areas.

She walked out of the bathroom only to see Christian sitting on the bed, looking at the framed picture in his hands with a smile. "I'm keeping this in my office."

Jeanohntae just smiled. "Okay, the other one with all of us is also for you."

Christian smiled. "Okay, I'll let you finish with everything here." He stood up and took the pictures to his office.

Jeanohntae happily returned to decorate the room with a little help from Leah. Jeanohntae brought the flowers to the balcony and came in to help Leah set the new curtains. When they were done, Leah was placing the clothes and shoes in the closet, while Jeanohntae placed one scented candle into the bathroom and the other on the coffee table.

Jeanohntae hung the picture of her and Christian up and took the other 4 downstairs. When she reached the bottoms, she saw Rudy and Joseph still there sitting on the couch. She placed the pictures in front of them. "Where should these go!??"

Joseph and Rudy smiled and looked at the pictures. Joseph quickly asked the maids to hang the family picture up on the empty wall in the living room while the others will surround it.

What once was an empty wall, was now decorated with beautiful pictures. Joseph could only smile at the thought of being a family again.

When Nikki and Nellie saw it, they became angry. "Sweetheart, why don't we have a family picture!?? We don't have any pictures of us on the wall."

"Like I said, I did not think you both wanted to join. And so, it was also Jeanohntae's idea to take a family picture taken." Joseph said smiling at Jeanohntae.

Nellie could not stand it anymore and stormed off into her room. Jeanohntae paid no attention and went back upstairs. When Jeanohntae opened the bedroom door, she was happy on how everything looked. It wasn't a big change, but it still made her feel somewhat better knowing it was also now her room.

She hopped on the bed and snuggled into the stuffed animals and slowly dozed off. She had been extremely exhausted after walking all day. She needed a good nap. Christian was finished hanging the pictures in his office.

He walked into the bedroom and found Jeanohntae snuggling up on the bed with the stuffed animals she just got. He seemed quite happy looking at the sleeping beauty. He noticed the slight change in the bathroom, on the balcony, in the closet and in the bedroom. It was not a lot that was changed, but there was a little warm feeling in Christian's heart.

He did not realize that a little addition would make him extremely happy. He looked back at Jeanohntae and noticed she still had her shoes on. He slowly walked over to Jeanohntae and gently took her shoes off. He placed them in the closet and came back to the bed and covered her with the blanket.

He returned back to his office and slowly walked in. He stood by his desk and looked at the beautiful pictures on the wall. He has never felt that his office would need to change. However, when he added the pictures, he felt happy. He decided to ask Ruth to run an errand for him.

"Ruth, get 2 recent photos of Jeanohntae and have them printed in 2 small frames." Christian told her.

Ruth was a little stunned. "Yes sir. I'll have it to you by tomorrow."

Christian hung the phone satisfied. He could not wait to see her pictures. He decided to make another call to the photographer they came from and asked if he could get 2 more smaller pictures of him and Jeanohntae. Also, a small picture of the family and a bigger one. He told the photographer to buy the frames and he will be compensated for his troubles.

As Christian continued his work, there was a knock on the door. "Who is it!??" Christian asked in a cold voice. The door slowly opened and a young man who looked like he was in his early 30's walked in.

"Hello sir, my name is Butler Lu, I will be the new Butler to serve you." The man said with a smile.

Christian looked at the man and squinted his eyes and then nodded. The butler took that as a sign of approval. "I look forward to working with the Maddox family." The butler turned and left.

Jeanohntae woke up later in the evening. It was time for dinner. Leah knocked on the door to bring Jeanohntae her dinner per request from Christian.

"Good evening Ms. Jean. Your dinner is served. Please eat peacefully and rest well." Leah said with a beautiful smile.

Jeanohntae was still a little tired but still managed a warm smile. "Thank you Leah. Is my father down stairs!??"

"Sorry Ms. Jean, but Sir and the master left home awhile ago. I believe they are going out to have some fun." Leah laughed to herself.

"Okay, thank you Leah." Jeanohntae smiled and Leah left the room. After finishing eating, a knock came was heard on the door. "Come in."

The door opened and the butler came in with a warm smile. "Hello madam, I am the new butler. My name is Butler Lu. I will be at your service whenever you need me madam."

Jeanohntae stood up quickly with a surprised smile. "Hello Butler Lu. My name is Jeanohntae. You won't need to call me madam. You can just call me Ms. Jean like the rest of the staff here. It's not too formal and still respectful."

The butler looked at her in confusion. Everyone he has worked for always expected him to call them sir or madam. They sometimes made him call them master.

Butler Lu just smiled and nodded in agreement. "Well then, Ms. Jean. Enjoy your evening and I'll take your dish downstairs."

"Thank you Butler Lu." Jeanohntae called out before the door closed.
