Monologue - An Extra Character

What was an extra character meant?

In short, an extra character was—as the name suggests, an extra character.

For example, if you had read a war-themed novel, you must ever read a sentence like this,

"More than 100,000 soldiers had gathered. They would have been ready for war."

Well, all those 100,000 people are called extra characters.

Of course, their fate was instant death.

Even if some people were still alive, they wouldn't be of much use.

Ironically, that was the fate that befell me.

Among those 100,000 people, that's where I was standing. Became an extra character.

Back to the topic, so, an extra character was a character whose background was never told, whose name was never mentioned, and whose life was never appreciated.

In fact, an extra character could be referred to as [None]. Something that exists but never was.

Well, that was a bit ambiguous, but that was the truth.

My name was Mesties... This was where I had been living, in the world of novels, where I was an extra character.

Nonetheless, I would continue to live and achieve whatever I can achieve.

Would I be able to reach for the stars in the sky, or perhaps I would only be able to reach for a grain of sand in a dead land?

Either way, I would stay alive, even until the epilogue ends.
