Dear Full Moon,

Cassie's howls were still heard by the werewolves in Dark River Pack, why was she making everyone worried like that?

Luna River took a pillow and covered her head, it didn't help. She could still hear her daughter's howls. Beta Jean was still outside the door apologizing to her saying he was only joking about the sedation.

He wasn't though, he knew that and he knew Luna River knew that and that made his apologies fall on deaf ears.

Luna River couldn't believe how everything had just turned out to be, two days ago they were planning and arranging everything in the pack for the transformation and they were all excited. But now every family in the pack was sad, they were afraid of their fate, and the night was still young.

The fate wasn't good and neither was the night.

Luna River walked to her window and looked outside. She couldn't see the forest, she walked to her closet and her binoculars out, walked back to the window, and opened it. Beta Jean hearing the window opening came running in.

"Luna River what are you doing?" He asked.

"Come on! Seriously Jean? What do you think? Like I am going to jump?" She asked him mimicking how Jean thought she was going to jump. Beta Jean looked down embarrassed. It was better for him to be embarrassed than to let anything happen to the Luna.

"I am trying to look if I can see Cassie." Luna River said and looked outside with the binoculars, she saw nothing, it was at night. She directed it to the garden and since it was well lit she saw no one, any other day the garden and the field next to it would have had kids playing.

"Where is everyone?" Luna River asked Beta Jean.

"No one had transformed yet and every family which had a son or daughter in the transformation room are waiting and the ones who have no seventeen-year-old kids are in their rooms and Luna everyone is confused." Beta Jean explained.

Luna River nodded and asked Beta Jean to leave, she needed time to think. Beta Jean hesitated and left the room while looking at Luna River who was still standing next to the window.

"Jean trust me if I wanted to transform and jumped out of the window, I would and there is no way you can stop me. Not like I could break my legs or something, my wolf can fly you know," said Luna River sarcastically.

Beta Jean chuckled, "if you say so Luna." said and left the room.

Once outside he found his wife, his daughter, and Delta Francis.

"My son has not has not yet turned." Delta Francis said to Beta Jean. Beta Jean looked at him, what was he supposed to do with that? Go where Harold was and force his wolf out of his body?

"The full moon is still up," Lisa said and stood next to his father's side. She could see her father was shaken, and she had to be there for him.

"The full moon is still up, right?" Lisa asked his father. They all stared at Lisa, they didn't even know if the full moon was up or not. Lisa ran outside the pack house and when she reached outside and found the full moon was still out, she came back and told everyone.

They sign in relief, at least they had some hours of waiting to see if the moon goddess had any surprise for them in-store. They all stood there and Beta Jean didn't know what he was supposed to do and after a few minutes of silence he said to Delta Francis, "walk with me."

Lisa looked at his father, and wondered, "walk with me, really dad?"

"When Alpha Rowan left and asked me to look over the pack, he didn't give me a manual that explained what I should do in this scenario." Beta Jean told Delta Francis.

Delta Francis looked at him, any other day he would have joked and told him to look up online but not at that moment, he had nothing. All he could think of was the full moon and his son. He looked at the watch and then back at Beta Jean. He was surprised how the time was moving that fast.

"You can go." Beta Jean said, he knew where Delta Francis was thinking.

Delta Francis left and run to his son's transformation room, it was almost dawn.

"Dear full moon, please stay up, just for more hours." Delta Francis heard his daughter saying. They were sitting in front of Harold's cage and they were staring at him like he was some kind of a trophy.

"Nothing!" Delta Francis thought. He didn't want to ask. Of course, he could see, his son was still in his human form.

Inside Luna River's bedroom, she was talking to herself, giving herself pep talks of how she was supposed to take Alpha Rowan's place and make everyone feel safe before their alpha arrived. She looked out the window once more and then at her watch, she wondered to herself, "how long have I been pacing?"

Dawn?

That was bad. Any other day, any other night. The dawn was very much welcomed, but not at the day of Cassie's first transformation, every werewolf in the pack wished the full moon would stay up longer, the night to continue and for them not to see the morning.

Because once the morning came they were all going to get a reality check.

Luna River walked to her bathroom, she was going to take a shower and become the Luna she was supposed to be. Yes, she was supposed to be a mother and worry about her daughter who was still howling, but the pack needed her more than anything.

Luna River trusted her daughter was going to be alright.

"Cassie, I trust you. You are the first female future alpha of Dark River Pack. I believe in you." Luna River said to herself and walked out of the bathroom. She heard a howl again and smiled to herself. It was different. The howl didn't sound as confused as the other ones.

She looked for some comfortable clothes, shoes and wore them. After that, she tied her hair up. It was time for Luna River to be in control and show them what she was made of.

She walked outside the room and found Beta Jean outside pacing, one look at him and Beta Jean told her, "please don't tell Alpha Rowan."

Luna River nodded, of course, she was going to tell her husband how agitated the beta was, and they would make fun of him, but that was going to happen once they figured out the things which were going on in Dark River Pack.

"Ask the families who are in their rooms to come to the meeting room." Luna River asked. She had a plan, and the first plan was to assure everyone that their future alpha was okay and the howls were just nothing, she was going to come back soon.

"They are already in there. They couldn't stay put in their rooms."

Luna River nodded, "go check the transformation rooms and see how the transformation is going on."

Beta Jean nodded at Luna River and walked away.

Entering the meeting room, Luna River was bewildered, everyone was up.
