Chapter 25: Remembering Bad Old Days

After the little feist they had, Matthew and his friends returned to their bunker. It was their first "happy" day after their awakenings.

Matthew got used to seeing them content that day, so, when he saw Helen crying quietly, he was shocked and immediately asked her.

"Helen, what happened?"

She wiped her tears. Inna sat in front of her.

"Was it that delicious, Helen?" She tried to make her laugh and it worked.

"I'm okay. I just…" She looked at the ceiling then closed her eyes. "Remembered something."

"What is it?" Asked Rex. Other than the first time they saw Helen crying, she was tough and logical. So, they thought it must be something really intense to make her cry again.

"I was a lawyer before," she started. "I was successful, like a tiger. Then, I got cocky and left my firm. For nothing. Literally. I said I wanted to have my own company and I would do it because I had all those clients and all that reputation.
