Chapter 28: Be the Leader

Matthew was genuinely happy while leaving Ava’s house. He meant what he said. This was a temporary solution that could be used for one time and it was over. He couldn’t make Ava do it again for Rex or someone else. And it wouldn’t change a thing. They were still servants, nothing else.

But Rex was okay. That was what mattered at the moment. He went to the zeppelin area to talk to Helen and Inna about what happened. Inna was sitting under the tree when he arrived.

“Hey, Matthew,” Inna said. She was pulling some grass. “Did you say ‘hi’ to your boss from me? Those acorns were good,” she emphasized the last word.

“Well, I couldn’t because something happened.”

“What?” She turned to him.

“Rex got kind of arrested…” He didn’t know how to put it into words.

“What?! Matthew-”

“Hey, what’s the noise?” Helen interrupted them.

“Rex got into trouble, he refused to obey his boss. And he reported Rex to the authorities.”
