Chapter 46: I Trust You

Matthew’s heavy and quick footsteps echoed throughout the dusty hall. He stood closer to the authorities than ever before, he looked them in the eye and said, "Who did it and how?" He sounded harsh and clear.

The man didn’t answer for a while, then he talked slowly. "You seek revenge, not justice. It will cause a bigger anarchy, if you decide to follow that path."

"Where justice is lacked, anarchy appears." Matthew felt colder than ice while talking. He was a bomb ready to explode.

"You are told that the citizen would be judged, with one condition."

"No, the conditions have changed. You will have my cooperation when that citizen is judged before my eyes. Until then, I will just wait,” said Matthew with the coldest tone.

He went by Rex again and sat down on the floor by crossing his legs. His chin was tight and he had a fire inside him. Matthew felt like he was losing control of himself and going back to his old self where he was dealing with mourning.
