Chapter 17: The Shrimp Burrito

“I’m starving," Nori wailed.

They were back out on the street. Fifth Avenue bustled and the park across the street was full of couples walking dogs and people sitting on blankets. The day was a tad nippy, but to the people of New York this was only sweater weather.

“You just ate,“ said Brad checking his watch.

“Near death experiences make me hungry. I want a shrimp burrito.”

“That was NOT a near death experience.”

“Yeah but it coulda been.”

“Hardly.”

Nori’s face broke out into a sly grin, “Have you ever been to the Bethesda Fountain?”

“No.”

“No? What do you mean no? You’ve lived in New York for how long and you’ve never been to the Bethesda Fountain?”

“Okay, Eleanor, I’ll let you in on my deepest, darkest secret…I’m not a native.”

"Tell me you've at least been to Central Park once."

"Yes. But it has been a while. I don't come here anymore."

She studied his face and tried to decipher his secrets.
