“No I don’t remember them,” said Brad definitively, “But I need to find HER.” 


Memories flooded into his mind and it all became clear to him. Gautier, Diesel, and Belette beating him with the other convincer. A solid metal tube with a rounded end. It looked like a bat, but it hurt a lot worse. 


Brad winced. He never wanted to meet either convincer ever again. That is why he’d agreed to their deal. He needed to get out of the hospital to keep it. 


Brad met the doctor's eyes, “When can I leave?” 


The doctor’s brows furrowed, “I would recommend not for another day or so.”


Brad counted the days. Nori had been alone for almost three days.


The doctor wrote down some more notes and said, “Gabby will see that you get everything you need.” 


Brad tried to sit up and Gabby came over to help him.
