Peter slid his hand over his face and cleared his throat. "From a distance, Sam followed the chief to the parking lot where he saw him pull a yellow rose from inside his jacket and discard it into a trash bin. As Sam watched him walk to his car, he called him on his cell phone and the chief answered. Sam asked Wolak what he was up to and Wolak told him that he was home playing with his kids. Sam told the chief that he had something very important to talk with him about and asked him to meet him at the station in fifteen minutes. Of course, Wolak couldn't make that time frame because it would take him at least an hour to get back to town from Green Bay. He told Sam he could meet with him but not for at least an hour."
